Philman George is from the small island of Barbuda, just off the coast of Antigua. He was raised in Toronto, Canada and his professional cooking career started when he enrolled in the Culinary Management program at George Brown College. Since then he has gained over a decade of experience working in some of Toronto’s finest private clubs and restaurants.
By fusing his Chef training with hip hop, Phil transforms into "The Rhyming Chef". Since it's creation in 2002, The Rhyming Chef has evolved from a catering business to an independent video production corporation. It also helps that his fiancee Ngardy Conteh of Mattru Media is a Producer, Director, Editor and Camera operator. Together they have been able to produce three Rhyming Chef DVD's. Currently the channel "Bite" has acquired The Rhyming Chef and will be broadcasting the show across Canada in July 2009! The show which was filmed in Phil's native island of Barbuda, targets young men who are looking for cooking tips to impress their dates.
I.E. is also the host and co-producer of a new show, "Cypher", which is broadcasted on Bite TV across Canada and world wide on www.aux.tv. Cypher is 1/2 hour show that covers all the elements of the underground hip hop scene.
Currently, Philman is the Executive Chef of two properties. In Toronto at the Island Yacht Club, which is a private power boating and sailing club on Toronto’s Muggs Island. He is also the newly appointed Executive Chef of the Light House Bay Resort in his native island of Barbuda. At only 29, Philman has established himself not only in the hip hop scene but also as a promising star in the culinary world.
