Interests are many, but in the main I enthuse over; painting in oils and acrylics, although I like to try other mediums; writing songs, singing and playing guitar/bass; writing stories and scripts and anything else that's inclined to roll out of the nib. I wrote a novel only a few years ago called 'Curtains Teddy Nemesis'; a tale of when a Teddy bear turns bad - very bad. Available to read online on: http://www.completelynovel.com/books/43580/streams/32. I've trod the theatrical boards in musicals and straight plays quite a few times over the last 12 years or so as well. I didn't realise how busy I've been! I've also got a tenor sax I'm intending to learn a tune or two on at some stage. Philosophy fascinates me as well; and I do like to Travel.

Anything really, but I'm a heavy rocker at heart. Jeff Beck is my favourite electric guitarist of all time. As was Hendrix, he is constantly trying new ideas and coaxing exciting new sounds from his instrument; whilst few can touch him for pure emotion. As opposed to an acoustic guitarist with pick-ups, he is a true exponent of the electric guitar. Also, I've got more into the classics over recent years and the sheer aptitude of Bach, especially in the hands of Jacques Loussier, just blows my head off. I enjoy most forms of jazz and amongst very many; pianist Keith Jarrett, Miles Davis, Stefan Grappelli, Django Reinhardt and drummer Buddy Rich float to the surface first. I recently came across an Aussie guitarist called Tommy Emmanuel; quite simply the closest to a virtuoso I've ever seen.

Sir Henry at Rawlinson End; Excalibur; Dead of Night; Happy Gilmore; Amadeus; It's a Wonderful Life and more recently Ten Canoes and the excellent '300': Sticking as closely as they could to the original graphic drawings, a point seemingly lost on most critics, it made for a great piece of cinema. Also 'Reservoir Dogs'; pure theatre in most part and a great script.

I don't seem to read much these days, but I enjoy most stuff by Bill Bryson. I was an avid reader of Ray Bradbury, Isaac Asimov and Roger Zelazny in times past, but I seem to have gone off science-fiction these days; although I'll always be in awe of HP Lovecraft's dark and seemingly bottomless imagination. His novelette,'At the Mountains of Madness', is a work of art. I understand that his wholly invented Cthulhu mythos is believed by many to be actually true. It's followers refusing to believe that it is all a product of Lovecraft's peculiar mind; despite his ongoing insistance throughout his later lifetime that he'd made it all up. I have to say that I still love Richmal Crompton's 'William' stories as well; her immensely enjoyable writing style is beyond compare.

There are many men and women in History who deserve such a title, but I don't think the heroism of Ernest Shackleton and his men will ever be surpassed. Not to mention their incredible feat of endurance that would be dismissed as too fanciful were it a work of fiction. This bloke, whoever he is, is well worth a mention too.

..I started to learn guitar at the age of 11 and eventually figured out how to tune it at the age of 12. Finally realising the severe limitations of playing what I fondly imagined to be Clapton-like solos on one or two strings, I purchased a copy of Bert Weedon's famed 'Play in a day' guitar tutor to remedy the problem. Bert's book was then abandoned after my mastering of the tuning section as I failed to attach the same importance to reading music from the outset as Bert. Like hundreds of other budding guitarists in those heady times, I just wanted someone to tell me how to play the guitar; not how to read a lot of daunting-looking crotchets and the like. The first half of the more modern (for the time) 'Dan Morgan's Guitar Book' showed me how to play 'Bobby Shaftoe' and similar ditties using rudimentry chords, but I was soon up to the introduction to his 'how to read music' second section; which stated in quite sarcastic fashion that one MUST now learn to read music and that unless one were equal to the genius that was the non-reading strummer Wes Montgomery, who must have been a big idol of Dan's, you would get absolutely nowhere at all - and if you were indeed such a genius you wouldn't be needing lessons from Dan - so knuckle down and get learning!! After absorbing Dan's sound technical advice, I then placed his book alongside Bert's in the bin. Self-taught from then on, I played my first gig as a lead guitarist at 15 in a purely instrumental lead/bass/drums trio; appearing at the legendary Stonehenge festival a few years later with veteran Scots bassist Ronnie Thain and drummer Mick Martindill, known collectively as Technoflash - a sort of prototype Motorhead. A temporary switch at 22 to bass after failing to a find a suitable bassist for a particularly ambitious band led to me loving the instrument and staying on it's 4 strings for the next 30 years. Although I always kept my hand in guitar-wise, I finally changed back to lead 18 months ago. Watch this space. I also like to paint in an abstract fashion hence the coming about of the twenty-six pictures now featured in my pics galleries. Also, entrance to my ARTS WEBSITE can be found opposite 'general' in my 'Steve's interests' column. I do have a view to selling one or two; should anybody feel an urge to hang one on their wall/s. I'm currently writing music reviews and general stuff for the 'Local Edition' and www.stokesounds.co.uk - have a peruse...
A long time inhabitant of Stoke-on-Trent, I moved up to the West Midlands from London nearly 20 years ago. I used to think that not that much happened around here, but since I began reviewing bands, I've found things happening all over the place! More later...

HELLO HERO! Thank you so much for your wonderful comments and support. We are in a paradigm shift on our planet. Knowledge of truth or falsehood is essential to civilized life. World Truth Tour, because of pressing matters, has been focusing on Political Agendas up to now. Those political matters have been adequately pinpointed, and the "job" of bringing them to the attention of the World has been done, thanks to Heroes everywhere heralding the Truth. It is time to move forward. Beginning in December Worldwide Issues of Every Kind will be highlighted on our Page, with the emphasis on Peaceful Remedies for the problems facing all of us on our beautiful, wonderful Planet. Please Stay Tuned.
