Rhythm City Inc. - is a non-profit youth outreach organization dedicated to today’s youth, who derive from culturally diverse backgrounds. We enhance their lives through the artistic expression of the performing and creative arts. The program is designed to develop well-rounded young dancers by providing them with rich increased fitness, learning, and social skills through the artistic experience of Hip-Hop dance. Rhythm City uses Hip-Hop to empower the youth in their communities as an alternative to drugs, violence, and destructive influences. The company’s intent is to cultivate the hip-hop dance form and to teach it with the same dedication and respect commanded by other “classic” dance forms. Rhythm City believes that by validating the dance created by kids on the street, we are validating the kids as well, and at the same time, providing a positive example for the youth to follow. The Program is open to children ages 9 and up, who have demonstrated strong interest in the performing arts. The core curriculum consists of 10 to 12 dance technique classes per week. Supplemental classes vary according to individual program requirements. The structure of the program consist of intermediate and advanced divisions which offers intensive training that focuses on the foundation of movements common to all styles of hip-hop dance. It is designed to suit all levels of the hip-hop dancer as well as a Sunday program for students who wish to commit less time to their dance studies. For those dancers who have met the criteria and skill level to perform as a choreographer, have the opportunity of teaching our basic beginner dance technique classes, such as, hip-hop/urban modern, jazz, African, mambo, beginner’s ballet and tap, which are said to begin in June 2006. Our program meets the needs of each individual child to help him/her grow. Dancers are then given the opportunity to exhibit and showcase their talents through studio performances, year-end presentations, talent show competitions, travel event showcases, and fundraisers. In a world where style and music are constantly changing, Rhythm City’s choreography remains innovative and unique, resulting in a group of individuals who express Dance in a style all their own. Rhythm City dancers take their passion one step further by sharing their talents with the surrounding community. We believe in the positive tradition of hip-hop dance culture by increasing awareness of its history and combining it with today’s current expression of hip-hop dance, while utilizing it as a powerful medium to inspire performance and to bring positive messages to diverse communities.

I couldn't help but tear when I heard rc's abdc ride was over... I felt partially responsible.. I live here in pa and I dance my heart out everytime I do..u have all inspired me and I wanted to personally thank u all and I hope I can sometime make it to a workshop and meet u all
