Hey yo!!! Those faces were brilliant!! Beautiful guitaring too. Bristol doesn't really have much going for it does it? A history of slavery, lovely fusion guitar-playing but I suppose on the upside, Stephen Merchant.
Aberdeen is so boring and I'm going crazy with boredom!! My trading manager looks like a shaved bald chimp who can't grow sideburns so has cut long bits of hair that hang down the side of his face. He uses phrases like 'we need to get more smarter' and 'I don't mean to be pernicitive, but'. I don't think he picks up on the irony!!
How's things in Stirling? Fit like's Chloe? You having a good time in the new flat?
Aye, tis grim but it'd be good to have money in Italy.
How is the band going? I'm missing all the music in Glasgow. Aberdeen's not so good for it although I may have a couple of gigs over the Summer at some pub on that road that goes from the end of Union Street.
La famiglia McCabe are good. Lewis seems quite settled at the moment. He's stopped smoking as much as well. Daniel's away in Sept to Dundee. How are los Camerons
A flat-warming party? I'll definitely be up for that provided I'm not working then. My days off seem to change a lot so it is very possible I can make it!! How is your new flat?
How's things right now? I have some rather depressing news: I'm back at the 'Feld! I need money. Are you staying in Stirling over the Summer? I'm so bored already and I've been back just over a week!! Have you got any plans for the Summer? I really miss being in Glasgow. Fit like's 'i quine? I'll need to come down to see you once I have money and a couple of days off!!
Yo yo yo! Wow, Chloe does a lot!! I'd need Pro-plus if I tried that lot on top of a Law course! I get an essay on Italian Cinema back tomorrow. I am not looking forward to finding out the grade. It will be painful.
I think I should be in Aberdeen on the 6th/7th, but I'm not sure yet. I'll definetely be going back at some point in April.
That sounds like an excellent night-out and I will have to make it to Stirling to experience such an event. However, I'm busy this weekend and next, unfortunately so I'll have to come a some point in the future.
What sort of band is it? You should definetely go for it!! You'd blow their brains out with you super-mega bass skills.
Ach, that's a shame. Aye, I've not got any money either!! It's a right pain in the arse. I can't be bothered going to Lewis' though because I'm not feeling too great at the moment.
Accordion is going good. I recently got involved with a few Breton guys to do this session/performance of Breton music in a pub. It was a Breton beer and whisky (I don't recommend either of these) tasting evening and the management wanted some music to go along with it. I had been playing with one of the French tutors who plays bodhrán and he knew this guy who played all these Breton tunes on the fiddle. We got together with another fiddler, Sarah, who runs the Celtic music group at Uni and learnt a load of these crazy breton tunes. It has been really fun. Apparently the management want us back so we must have been doing something right.
How's Chloe doing? I think Kirstie and I are going to go up to Aberdeen next weekend.
Yo yo yo! How are things in the World of Stirling? Things in Glasgow are alright at the mo as I don't have too much coursework left for this year!! How is your course going?
Lewis is having a flat-warming on Saturday and I was wondering whether ye would like to come? You and Chloe are welcome to come!!
How's the Geetar going? We'll need to meet up for a tune soon!! I was speaking to somebody who was playing at some practice studio majig in Glasgow so I could find out where it is and then we could proper stick up the volume without the fecking neighbour complaining. The cheeky bastard was having some sort of djembe, guitar, singing party that lasted until 6 am the other week so maybe we should just do it at mine!!!
Yo Yo Yo. How are things in Stirling? Sorry, I forgot to text you back. Things are good here. I handed in a terrible essay a couple of weeks ago and then met a maniac in a Costa on Sauchiehall street. In between then I've just done wee bits and bobs. Have you been to Barcelona yet? How's Chloe doing? Are you back at Uni yet?
Yo yo yo. How are things back in Stirling? Daniel's in bed yet again, recovering from his crapulence!! My leccy guitar is now down in Glasgow so we should get together for a jam soon. Gerry was saying how good we were sounding the other night and that was with us playing our cheese!!
Aye aye. Sorry I've not responded for a couple of days but I've had no access to t'internet.
It was just a University concert thing. I was playing box in the celtic music group. I had to open our part and I'm the only box player so it would have been mean if I hadn't turned up. I didn't feel good though. I was sweating and dizzy but it went fairly well.
Ah, it'll be great to see you. Aye, we can sort stuff oot on Boxing day.
Yo, sorry I've not replied I've had a virus for the past few days. It has not been fun. That's the guy that gave us the talk. He's a psycho?! He seemed so nice. Although, somehow I can believe that.
That guys fingers are indeed scary. He's like a rougher, more human, lacking in smug-smarminess Martin Taylor.
Fit been deein'? I was playing in a Uni concert last night, not totally recovered. It was fun but alsonot fun.
Ha ha ha. That was great. I love the little reflective, contemplative bit in the middle!!
Things are good with me. I only really have small tests at this time of year. I have an Italian translation tomorrow which I think should be alright. How about yourself?
I think I heard the Brazilian media lecturer that you had last year, speaking at an Asylum seeker awareness thing organised by Fraser last week. There were 4 speakers and he was the best and most obviously the only lecturer. His talk was excellent. He said that people asked why he came to Scotland and that he always replied, "like everyone else, for the food and the weather". I can see why you liked his classes. I think it was him, anyway. He said he was from Stirling Uni media department and he had a South American accent according to my friend.
Yeah, it was freezing here for a bit. It was frosty. Nearly fell on my arse about a hundred times.
Aye, 12 exams is not a good prospect but I'll get through them. I had an on-line French test yesterday that went alright. It counts for 10% of my grade. An essay I had written wwas utter shit though. This was evident in the mark I got. However, I had a Gaelic speaking exam today that went extremely well so I was happy for the rest of the day.
Indeed, usual drinking/guitaring business for New Year should be cracking.
Yo yo yo. How's things going in Stirling? My Ma and Pa are here and they were asking after you. They bought me loads of shopping and I was really needing lots just now so that worked out quite nicely. It is terrific.
I'm sitting in the library revising for my Christmas exams (they can't really be called that at all with the subjects I'm doing. The real bastards come in May when I will have 12 seperate exams!!) My head is totally feckered at the moment. Have you got any exams before Christmas?
Are you taking your guitar back up to the Deen at Christmas? That would be the greatest time for jamming!!!
Yeah, Paul Gilbert will be great. Have you got the tickets just now or will I have to go and get one? How much are they? Sorry I haven't got back to you of late. I'm a rubbish friend sometimes!!
I know this isn't a quote but when I remember it it always makes me laugh. The bit when Father Ted gets into Tom's car and then they stop outside the Post office. Tom leaves the car but tells the Dog beside him to shutup. Always makes me laugh.
Which gig was this that there were sweaty arseholes at? Was it in Glasgow?
There was an away day in Loch Lomond with this group called Alpha that I've been going to. It's this Christian awareness course. Kirstie is Christian and, as you know, I have not always been so favourable towards Chritianity. However, my views have not always been so educated so I though I'd go along to make a more informed opinion.
I think I should be in the 'Deen over Christmas and New Year. We can deffo jam then. However, I don't know if I want to spend so much time there. I hated it last year. 5 weeks of Grey, feckin' cold!!! I think I'm going to take the Gibbo back with me this weekend so hopefully we can have some jammerooing after that.
My courses are going OK at the moment. I can't think of anything truly remarkable happening whch probably just means I'm not doing as crap as usual!
