Rhythm Boy got his name when he was into rhythm as a boy (boom boom).
Actually, that's not really true but he did start playing drums at the age of four, started proper lessons at 12 and was playing professionally by 15. By the time he left school he was teaching drums full time and playing in 5 different bands as well as musicals and theatre. As a teen he also taught himself guitar and keyboards and experimented at home recording songs into his little 4 track.
In 1988 RB moved from Ballarat in country Victoria to Melbourne, and studied music at La Trobe University, getting an Honours degree in composition and technology. It was here he developed a love for electronic music, from Schaeffer's Musique Concrete to Glass's Minimalism to early Techno. This evolved into a career shortly thereafter that has taken many turns:
Remixes and Programming - - Groove Armada "If Everybody Looked the Same" STH3205 remix (with Will-e-Tell and Simon digby) - Philip Glass "Another Look at Harmony" remix (Glass Cuts, Orange Mountain Music) - Eric Powell/Boo Reords CD001 compilation mix - Athens Olympic Games theme remix (for Burkhard Dallwitz) - Anji Bee "Favor Tweet" remix - Tali "Don't Be Sorry" remix (with Mark Pellegrini) - "Beef Chief" vocals and remix (Bubble & Squeak) - Wetmusik "Live at Storey Hall" CD001, CD002, CD003 (live recording) - Jock Cheese (TISM) drum programming, Sin programming, etc.

Hey Rob, it has been a while. I will make it to one of your gigs however it won't be for a while. I broke my ankle 6 weeks ago now (day before my new job with NAB, which i started this week) and i'm still not able to get around without the aid of a driver. Once it's all back to normal i'll definately catch one! How's all at your end? Hope all's well. Take it easy!
