I heard y'all might be closing? Hopefully only a rumor. Here is some text from my reply to a petition to show my support to R&B staying open.
Of Course I'll add my name, Comedian Wes Duncan, The High Tech Redneck (Also Board Member of Indie Music for Life and Indie Laughs for Life) and other celebrity friends that pop into R&B just for the music.
Comedian Chelcie Rice of Toccoa, GA Comedienne Shelly Ryan of Marietta, GA Comedian Mike "Chubby Johnson" Carr of Marietta, GA Comedian Dan Mangeni of FARK TV Atlanta, GA Comedian Dr. "Ludicrous" Pete Ludovice of Atlanta, GA Musician and CEO of Spotted Kiva Productions, Vicki Blankenship, these are just a few that have popped into Gainesville while performing with me locally to check out the clubs.
Many times between my own shows and work, R&B is one of my favorite hang outs where I don't have to perform. I often bring celebrity friends and business associates with me.
We could hang out at Luna's, the Monkey Barrel, Wild Wings, Loco's, or AJ's. I happen to prefer the people, the food, and the drinks at R&B, so I often will choose to drop in over other Gainesville Clubs.
Other than on nights when competing with UGA Football, Atlanta Dragway, or Road Atlanta...The club is usually packed. Many weekend nights I have my own shows booked. When I am not busy or finish up my own shows around Georgia, I often drop in. Especially when Peggie Hoskins, King Daddy Polecats, Chad Bowmar, Red Dirt, Nate Currin, or other friends are performing. I usually stay until either closing or I wear out.
Since most people in Gainesville don't know me or other celebrities I bring in, It often let's us enjoy the music unnoticed by the public that are not fans of comedians or Indie Musicians. Many have won national awards, been on TV, in Movies, or nationally known clubs. But are not known otherwise despite their successes.
