Big start to the year with Rhythm Collision Sound performing a massive set in The Boiler Room at the Big Day Out 2008 on the Gold Coast and now just announced as support to Jamaican cultural reggae artist Bushman's up and coming 2008 Australian tour
Rhythm Collision Sound founder and deejay/selector Basmati returned to Brisbane Australia in 2002 after several years living overseas and interstate. Having first being introduced to dancehall and reggae music on the Caribbean coast of Central America and the soundsystems of the streets of inner west London, he has been listening to, collecting, organising & promoting dancehall and reggae shows and deejaying reggae music throughout his travels. He has built up an extensive reggae music collection and knowledge of reggae music history and culture
Basmati is complemented on tunes by Hemi Tuff originally from Port Vila, Vanuatu and Gregwise originally from Cape Town, South Africa
Rhythm Collision Sound’s MC/producer Krisdafari has been rippen up trax, mics, wax and stages since the early days with his crew LHP. As well as MC for Rhythm Collision Sound he now runs a label, Bumpn Headz and has performed all over Australia, doing gigs with crew Penna D, John West and Miss Defi, as well as Workshops and hosting Battles. He has also won MC battle titles, and placed in the Out 4 Fame Queensland Heats (2nd, 04). Many of his trax have been featured on Television (KORE TV) and DVD (Billabong World Juniors 05), as well as compilations ('State of Origin' 06 with Organic Intellekt)
With the freshest “up to the time” reggae riddims from Jamaica selected by Basmati, Gregwise and Hemi Tuf in today’s modern dancehall, conscious roots and outernational as well as the classics, samples, effects and delays, voiced over with Krisdafari’s chatting dancehall style and interaction with the crowd makes a Rhythm Collision Sound show a unique energetic live experience
