Formed in 1981, first as Rhythm Method, this Detroit band consisted of vocalist Michael Persh, with Davey Holmbo, Greg Apro, and Richie Lovsin. The group played the local club circuit ... and the group began to attract their own following. Shows with the Psychedelic Furs, the Jam, Billy Idol, and a tour with the Romantics.
Following an independent release, Detroit's Rhythm Corps made their national debut in 1988 with Common Ground. Their efforts yielded a minor hit in the title track, a midtempo number with moody guitar work and a simple lyrical plea for understanding. It was the best thing on the record. Lead singer Michael Persh possesses an interesting voice, but the lyrics, give him much too little to work with.
