The Rhythm Hounds are a North Eastern Hip Hop outfit that formed early in 2003. The band consists of Joshie Lovett, Ammon Griffiths and Trav Hintz. Josh and Ammon are the two MC's of the group and Trav is the Turntablest.
In the early days all the production was handled by Josh and Ammon. Since then they have teamed up with local producer David J. Connor and then there were three. After working with Dave and writing songs, we then began looking for a DJ to complete the crew. We found Trav. Along with Ammon and Josh digging for samples and helping out on a some beats the Four made quite the team and were starting to turn heads in the area.
Their jump into the scene was being the support act for Melbourne Hip Hop crew TZU at their only Beechworth show. They have supported the crew many times since then along with Microphonics. TZU and Microphonics have helped The Hounds out and given advice when needed. They are forever grateful.
In 2005 Rhythm Hounds were apart of the Kool Skools program. It was te indigo shires first Kool Skools CD and The Hounds would make it one to remember by bringing home the award for "Best Hip Hop Track" with their song "Boy You Wouldn't Wanna". They returned in 2006 to take out this award again as well as being nominated for a slew of others includng "Best Rappers" And "Best Hip Hop Group"
The Rhythm Hounds have been remembered for their highly energetic live show and their fun and antics. Their live show consists of Josh, Ammon And Trav. They've played gigs at venues and such as Federation Square, Sodens Hotel, Wodonga Civic center and Beechwoth Memorial Hall, just to name a few.
