Rhythmic Roots brings together the culture and people of New Orleans through a Drum Circle to create positive energy that is both relaxing and reinvigorating. The essential concept of Rhythmic Roots is to bring together pivotal elements of New Orleans musical culture focused around the pulse of the drum.
Starting the Summer of 2006, Rhythmic Roots has brought together the community every other Sunday to celebrate our rhythmic roots.
a professional percussionist leading group efforts with additional guest percussionists each week, a Mardi Gras Indian Tribe, and a Brass Band. Each element comes together to get the crowd moving.

SUPPORT THE PROJECT THAT IS BRINGING INDEPENDENT MUSIC TO THE MASSES Leggomydemo.com, the site that ranks independent music artists in real-time to give deserving artists a chance to be heard, has made tremendous progress over the past year to expose deserving artists. The site, now in beta mode, has attracted a $30k Knight Foundation grant and over 1,000 interested producers who have an interest in independent artists. The goal of the project is to create a Pandora-like app that provides free internet radio of the best independent music... but the project needs one last push to complete development. The group has raised over $10k toward their $30k matching grant but needs to raise an additional $3k by their September deadline to release the grant and complete development. Founders have opened a last resort fundraiser at www.indiegogo.com/leggo to raise matching funds and offer supporters special radio access in the premier months ahead. “If we raise the matching funds we will level the playing field against major record labels. If we don't, the project probably won't be completed.�, says Chris Chrebet, original founder of Leggo My Demo. “Right now we are reaching out more than ever to make this a reality.� All independent artists who support Chris and the Leggo My Demo platform are encouraged to donate $9 for a special 3-month access to production quality independent music and free downloads of other artists. It’s been well over a year since I last recorded something new my friend, but it’s that time again. I posted a new original song called “Forever No Restraints.” It's the frist song on the Myspace music player.
I refer to it as cosmic blues.....but blues it ain't. I used to do this song as a short solo acoustic piece, but I decided to turn it into a lengthy electric guitar jam and let my freak flag fly!
It has a strong Hendrix vibe, but is uniquely me….. Please drop by my page and have a listen! I also posted a video of me doing the song as I recorded it, so even if the music player isn't working, you can check the song out in the video.
