About Rhythmic Roots: Community Music

Rhythmic Roots brings together the culture and people of New Orleans through a Drum Circle to create positive energy that is both relaxing and reinvigorating. The essential concept of Rhythmic Roots is to bring together pivotal elements of New Orleans musical culture focused around the pulse of the drum. Starting the Summer of 2006, Rhythmic Roots has brought together the community every other Sunday to celebrate our rhythmic roots. a professional percussionist leading group efforts with additional guest percussionists each week, a Mardi Gras Indian Tribe, and a Brass Band. Each element comes together to get the crowd moving.

Paul Bibbins	Feb 16 2008 8:21 PM I added 2 new songs to the music player. The first song, “RUN”, is now complete with vocals added. The origin of this song is from me wanting to write a really aggressive uptempo and earthy rock song like Jimi Hendrix’s “Fire”. The result is a very aggressive, uptempo and earthy rock song, done in my characteristic odd-meter time signature. I guarantee that it is the hottest, funkiest, and most original thing you’ll ever hear from just one man! The second song is a redo of my solo acoustic song “EVERFIRE, EVERWIND”. It’s melodic, free form, and tender (what? A tender song from me. lol). It’s also about as unique an acoustic performance as you’ll ever hear. Check out both songs, I guarantee they won’t disappoint!
