and so i struggle in the deft grip of youth's aftermath,
contemplating existence.
i can't help but touch upon black things,
and this leads me to wonder if conscience is the one true path to a higher plane.
or is it perhaps just a slow sickening descent
into unfathomable depths.
so selfish i,
yet still there lies compassion amidst the want and the hunger.
never one to understand completely another,
i have an underlying (at times terrifying) need to share, grow, and seek comfort.
from here, my limited peripheral allows but an inkling of insight,
borne of trust, fear, loss, and other unmentionables.
once again i seem to find myself
(albeit briefly),
though i may be truly lost.
