Aug 4 2008 3:07 AM

that is crazy... good to know that you can trasfer sounds back and forth... maybe use both the turbo and 1200 via midi.
DRUMAT!C

Aug 2 2008 2:56 PM

I forgot to ask you if you could make an attampt at transferring the 12-turbo drums to the SP via midi or cassette? I saw this on the emu-arch. site. DFACE and J1 had no luck. Care to give it a try?

Transferring SP-12 Samples The sound library from the SP-12 can be transferred to the SP1200 by connecting the cassette OUT of the SP-12 to the SMPTE IN of the SP1200. Power up the SP-12 and load the samples into the SP-12. Then power up the SP1200 with the DISK button held down. This places it into Cassette and MIDIDisk mode. Select Cassette mode (option 1), and then select either Seqs or Snds to transfer either sequences or sounds from the SP-12. When complete select option 3 MakeDisk, and save the samples to a diskette in the SP1200. You will need to name these sounds later on, and you cannot transfer the SP-12 ROM sounds.

VVVVVV - Hey, all my drums are either tuned down or up (pitch adjusted) to sound fatter and heavier—or tighter and punchier—and you know I use a SP1200. Quite honestly, the SP-12 turbo has an even fatter sound because the frequency is 27,500hz and the 1200 falls at a slightly less resolution of 26,040hz (info. courtesy of emulator archive).

Can't wait to hear the magic you make with the 1200, being your such a beast on the 12-turbo!

Aug 1 2008 8:45 AM

Now that you got that cheap busted SP1200 fixed up you too can have un-pitched drums for more clarity and brilliance!
DECKDADDY

Aug 1 2008 6:51 AM

Glad to hear you liked it!

I have listened to your beat-tape a couple of times. It's a good job considering the very limited time. And it has all SP sound. But do you speed up and tune down even on all drums? Even the drums sound mad grimey, I usually only pitch down kicks in the SP but run my hats and snares unaffected by pitch settings to get the drums to stand out.

Keep keep on.

PEACE!
