Originating from a small town in the east of England, the Rhythm Punkz have spent the past four years building from the solid foundations set of local gigs and radio shows through to large national gigs and radio features and into the international arena of the dance music industry.
And while building from the local success the gigs have got bigger and the tracks more successful and hard hitting!! In recent times Rhythm Punkz have featured at Roger Sanchez night “Release Yourself” at Ministry in London, Residencies at Yes Club in Guangzhou China, SEone Club London, Overdose Nites and a whole heap of gigs around the world including Australia, Slovenia, Canada, Poland, China and Italy.
The production is the key focus for the Rhythm Punkz though and that is why the success from their songs has increased with every release and remixing the likes of Muse, Eric Prydz, Empire of the Sun, Solders of Fortune has shown just how respected the producer is. But this is no surprise when you consider the roots for the Punkz. Rob Currie has a vast history in dance music. Starting out at the age of 17 his first ever release under the name Co-ordinate was a track called “You got me Burning” written along-side legendary anglo-italian D&B producer Peshay. This rocketed him onto the dance music scene at an early age and gave him opportunities to DJ at the highest level which he described as “a dream start to my career and just a dream come true”. He opened his arms up to all that came his way including the chance to remix one of the all time greatest tracks “Big Fun” by Innercity. He also went onto produce Peshay’s next two award winning albums (Fusion & Jammin) and had the chance to remix Ronnie Size, Loose Cannons, New Spirit Helsinki, Aphrodite, MJ Cole and many, many more. DJ sets in his first three years included Fabric London, 8-date Germany Tour, Nottinghill Carnival, Glastonbury Festival, The Big Chill and Sonic Dance Festival Switzerland.
Since then Rob went onto work more closely as a professional music producer and engineer and worked at Indigo Studios and in Australia at Sony Studios as well as Metropolis Studios in London. He later went on to setup Rhythm Punkz, and now four years on is expected to have several of his biggest releases in his career yet. With major labels on his heels and promised “Live” Performances to come in the next year things are starting to hit fever pitch with this versatile and fresh house music producer...... definitely keep your eyes and ears peeled!!!!!.
