Myspace Layouts RIAD el_tunsi is a Tunisian, born in the capital city of Tunis, in the part of town called LAFAYETTE which is the heart beat of the artistic community in the country. At the age of fourteen, Riad began taking music and oud lessons at Salah Elmehdi Musical Club on Rue de Palestine in Lafayette. Salah Elmehdi, a legendary Tunisian musical composer, recognized Riad's talent and encouraged him to pursue a musical career. Riad's professional musical career began at the young age of sixteen when in 1986 he joined the TAWFIK LINGLIZ ORCHESTRA. He played the oud and was a vocalist for the orchestra. He remained a member until 1990 when he went to the University of Oujda in Morocco to study sociology, history, law and political science. In 1994 after completing his studies, he joined the cruise ships of the Mediterranean Sea with his own band. Some of the cruise ships were Al Habib of Tunisia, Damem of Greece, The Prince of Norway and the Rodhenthy of Italy. Immigrating to the United States in the mid 1990s and currently living in the New York city area, Riad continues to play oud and sings all of the different styles of Arabic music from, Tunisian and Middle Eastern to Khalegee and Rai. In the United States, Riad has developed a different style of music that is pleasing to Middle Easterners, Europeans, and all Americans in general. Below is a list of some of the events in which Riad el_tunsi has shared his musical talents: • September 9, 1999 - The Lebanese Festival of Philadelphia, sponsored by Saint Maroni Lebanese Church. * • August 22, 2000 -The Peace Concert, sponsored by the United Nations. in San Francisco, California. • December 12, 2000 - Performing with Lebanese super star singer Melhem Baraket at Caesar's Palace in Atlantic City. • December 20, 2000 - Participating in a benefit concert for the American Red Cross (promoted by Jerry Sorkin of Wayne, Pennsylvania). • March 20, 2001- Performing with Lebanese super star Fares Karam at the Hilton Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City. • August 29, 2001- Performing in a musical concert with legendary Lebanese singer Wadiiy Essafi at the Taj Mahal Casino in Atlantic City. • November 11, 2001 - Supporting the September 11 Victims Concert at Bryn Mawr College Hall, bringing together many Middle Eastern musicians of several different origins and religions (promoted by Jerry Sorkin and Dean Riad). • June 2002 - Performed on tour with Algerian Rai super star Cheb Nasro, appearing with him in Philadelphia, Washington DC, New York and Miami. • September 4, 2002 - Performing for the Election Campaign supporting Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell. • September 2003 – Touring with Moroccan super star Binhass, appearing with him in Philadelphia, Washington DC, Orlando, Miami, New Jersey and New York. • October 7, 2003 - Singing at the Hilton Hotel in Alexandria, Virginia for The Tunisian Community Organization of The United States which was hosted by Tunisian Ambassador to The United States Hatem Atallah.

so, i know you're probably expecting some kind of comment like, "hey, come check out my new tunes and holla at your girl, or, hey, my album just dropped, and you can buy it on blah blah blah, or did you hear my new song "Daddy killed the porn star" LOL, oh my god, really, I had a comment from some band almost exactly like that!! ;)

anyhow, instead, I'll just leave a very generic doofus "hey man, thanks for the add" comment cause you cant get too many of those right? Right, okay, come back anytime to watch a video, listen to some tunes, buy a . . . gosh, its so hard not to say it!!!! BUY MY CD! THERE I did it anyway!!! LOL, seriously, anytime , come back, leave a comment, read my FAQ's, sing along with the songs, tell 300 of your closest friends about me. . . something, just do something! ;)

xo

Ahla bouha!
listen I jsut wanted to say that I can send the pics form the DC concert ot I bring them on a disc next time I come over. now the bad new is, like usual, there were no pictures taken of the old city night. that was an amazing time at biblos. the only pictures were taken at the restaurant before the club and like always you and I never took a picture together because we are running the show, lol. Then, Gina told me that she forgot the camera at home when we were already infront of you at the club, so yeah all that crazy stuff at biblos did not get pics. One more thing to add to to the long list of events we'll have to rely on our memory to remember 20 years from now. loooooool bite me! lol
any way, love you bro! A+
