Every person, no matter how much faith they have or how good a person they are will face disappointments. It may be something simple like not getting that promotion you really hoped for, or not closing that big deal you worked so hard on. Maybe you didn't qualify for a house you really wanted. Or, it may be something more serious like a relationship not working out, the death of a loved one, or some kind of illness in your body. Whatever it may be, the reality is that we’re all going to suffer some setbacks. But I believe one of the main keys to overcoming disappointments is learning to let go of the past. The past weighs you down and holds you back.
If you feel "stuck" today, you may want to examine what you're holding on to. Be willing let go of the past by choosing forgiveness. Who hurt you? Who wronged you? Release it to God. Do you need to forgive yourself? Do you need to receive God's forgiveness? Make the choice today to let go of the past so that you can experience the bright future God has in store for you!

Many of the challenges that come our way in life are simply distractions to try to lure us from our destiny. Every day we have the opportunity to get upset—maybe someone is talking about you, or a competitor at work is spreading rumors, or a friend says something that they shouldn’t have. When this happens, you have to ask yourself, “If I engage in this battle and spend my time and energy trying to defend myself or trying to prove that I’m right, if I win this battle, what is the prize going to be?” For example, if someone cuts you off in traffic and you get all upset and cut him off in return, how is that going to benefit you? You don’t even know the person! What’s the point? There are no spoils. That’s not a battle that is worth your energy.
The reason many people are missing out on God’s best is they’re distracted fighting battles that don’t really matter, trying to prove themselves to others, trying to win over their critics, playing up to someone, trying to get their approval. Instead, choose to keep your focus and attention on becoming more like Jesus so you can fulfill the destiny He has prepared for you!

We all face difficulties and challenges in life. But you have to remember, as a believer in Jesus, you have the life-giving seed of Almighty God on the inside of you. When you go through disappointments or tough times, you may feel like you’ve been buried. You may feel like you’re in a dark, lonely place. You may feel like it’s the end, but in reality, it’s only the beginning. The fact is, you haven’t been buried; you have been planted. That means you’re coming back. And not only are you coming back, but you’re coming back in increase, better and stronger than before.
In those tough times, you’ve got to draw the line in the sand. Make a declaration, “This difficulty is not going to bury me. This loss, this disappointment, this injustice is not going to cause me to give up on my dreams. I refuse to live in self-pity. I know I am a seed. That means I cannot be buried. I can only be planted. I may be down, but it’s only temporary. I know I’m not only coming back, I’m coming back even better than I was before!”

Hoy puedo quejarme porque el día esta lluvioso, o puedo dar gracias a Dios porque las plantas están siendo regadas gratis.
Hoy me puedo sentir triste porque no tengo más dinero, o puedo estar contenta de que mis finanzas me empujan a planear mis compras con inteligencia Hoy puedo quejarme de mi salud, o puedo regocijarme de que estoy viva.
Hoy puedo lamentarme de todo lo que mis padres no me dieron mientras estaba creciendo, o puedo sentirme agradecido de que me permitieran haber nacido.
Hoy puedo llorar porque las rosas tienen espinas, o puedo celebrar que las espinas tienen rosas.
Hoy puedo auto compadecerme por no tener muchos amigos, o puedo emocionarme y embarcarme en la aventura de descubrir nuevas relaciones.
Hoy puedo quejarme porque tengo que ir a trabajar, o puedo gritar de alegría porque tengo un trabajo.
Hoy puedo quejarme porque tengo que ir a la escuela, o puedo abrir mi mente enérgicamente y llenarla con nuevos y ricos conocimientos.
Hoy puedo murmurar amargamente porque tengo que hacer las labores del hogar, o puedo sentirme honrada porque tengo un techo para mi mente, cuerpo y alma.
Hoy el día se presenta ante mí, esperando a que yo le dé forma y aquí estoy, el escultor que tiene que darle forma. Lo que suceda hoy depende de mí... yo debo escoger qué tipo de día voy a tener.
