If you are visiting this page for the first time, please send a message to say what you thought of my work (or myself), as a dot will appear on my world map showing where you are, and it is nice to know who has popped by for a visit! Why not add me as a friend as well?

And here is an audio file of me playing a tune on my one-row squeezebox at a festival this summer.
Music
I listen to lots of styles of music- folk, jazz, country, blues, soul, reggae, African, cajun, but I suppose my main pop time was from The Clash, Pistols, Undertones, Ramones up to Specials, Madness, Costello. It all leaves its mark on my 'singing' style. Oh yes,I play in a band called the Famous Potatoes. We have a few songs up on YouTube and here is an old Milton Brown & His Musical Brownies western swing tune from the 1930s called The Texas Hambone Blues.
Movies
French and Spanish films especially Almodovar.
Television
Don't watch much... in fact I'm seldom interested when I scan the listings.
Books

About me: I have been a professional potter/ceramicist for 26 years. My studio is about 25 yards from the River Thames at its estuary in Leigh on Sea, Essex in England. I design and make beautiful bowls and vases in porcelain, and useful pots for the kitchen, home and garden in terracotta. I have put some pictures up here to give you an idea of my styles (please leave comments about them), but please look at my website at www.richardbaxter.com
This short (but rather poor quality) video gives you a tour of my gallery and studio in Old Leigh, Essex
Who I'd like to meet: All makers, artists, creative people, students and enthusiasts. Musicians are always interesting. Free thinkers more of the left than the right. I've met some wonderful friends already, and I'll add you if you ask, but please keep in touch.

Oklahoma has layers of green due to good spring rains. Newborn bison are breathing, feeding, roaming the lush, green plains now... Cactus are blooming... And the collard lizards are out sunning themselves...
hope you and your's are staying warm in the burrr burrr burrr weather in your home front. Just saw the unusually cold weather in London and we thought that is close to Richard. Hope you are ok. Better keep that heater running in the studio so your pots don't freeze and then fall apart like before. eh? Talk to you soon. S
hahaha nope... it was a bench that I did a mosaic tile project on at Sam Houston University. Don't you know me well enough to know I would not run from a mouse? S
