YES «In the Present» tour announced
Steve Howe, Chris Squire and Alan White will launch the In The Present tour starting November 4th in Hamilton, Ontario, marking yet another chapter in their 40-year career. The three will be joined by keyboardist (and Rick's son) Oliver Wakeman and vocalist Benoit David, a Montreal, Quebec, native.
Of course Benoit is the vocalist of our Yes tribute band Close To The Edge - Classic Yes 71-74. He was discovered by Chris Squire through our website and our YouTube videos slightly after I gave him the information about our tribute band existence.

Close To The Edge is composed of Yes fans playing Yes music, serving faithfully Yes music. The band members chose to bring their own feelings into this music, each in his own way. Being long time fans, they know which songs they would like to hear, and they just play them. You'll have to see for yourself and hear those classics performed with passion and attention to details. The idea is to capture the essence of the live shows. Some songs will be inspired by a studio version, then it might jump into a live version segment, sometimes old, sometimes newer. CTTE even sometimes improvise a bit, as Yes itself does on some live versions. Come to a show! It wont be Yes playing, but if you close your eyes, you might think twice...

Close To The Edge est formé de fans de Yes, interprétant loyalement la musique de Yes, et les membres du groupe ont choisis d'y apporter et d'y intégrer leur propre émotion, chacun à sa façon. Fans de première heure, ils choisissent les pièces qu'ils souhaiteraient eux-mêmes entendre, les classiques, et ils les jouent, simplement. Il faut le voir pour le croire et surtout pour écouter ces joyaux interprétés avec passion et souci du détail. L'importance est de capturer l'essence même d'une performance de Yes. À partir des versions studio, comme des versions en spectacle, souvent anciennes, quelquefois plus récentes. Par moment, ils improvisent, un peu comme Yes le font eux-mêmes en spectacle. Venez voir par vous-mêmes ! Ce ne sera pas Yes sur scène, mais si vous fermez les yeux, vous pourriez vous poser la question...

Following last live performance in Rimouski on April 25, 2009, «Close To The Edge» is now in hiatus.
Benoit David is touring with Yes while the other members of CTTE will pursue different personal and/or musical projects.
The web site and the MySpace page will remain on line and I'll keep you posted if any development occurs.

Faisant suite à la dernière performance à Rimouski le 25 avril 2009, le groupe «Close To The Edge» entre maintenant dans une période de pause d'une durée indéterminée.
Benoit David sera en tournée avec Yes en 2009 et les autres membres entreprennent divers projets personnels et/ou musicaux.
Le site web restera en ligne, ainsi que la page MySpace, et je vous tiendrai au courant d'éventuels développements.
