About me: Richard Lewis was born in Brooklyn, New York. Mr. Lewis grew up in the Red Hook housing projects located in South Brooklyn. He has one son and 3 daughters and one step daughter and 3 grandchildren. After serving in the U.S Air Force for a total of six years of active duty, Mr. Lewis joined the Police Department in New York City. He was assigned to the housing Bureau as a patrolman and later was promoted to detective 3rd grade. While on the police force, he graduated from John Jay College of Criminal Justice with a B.S. Degree, and hold certificates from other schools of investigations. Earn an Associate Degree in Ministry from the Radio School of the Bible. He also holds two diplomas from Anderson University Pastoral School of Theology and a number of certificates from other Bible Institutions including 4 postgraduate certificates from The Jewish Theological Seminary of America. Has a Master degree in Divinity, Doctoral in Theology.
Mr. Lewis, while serving on the police force, received more than 70 citations and commendations for bravery, meritorious, exceptional & excellent police work. He is the only Detective and Police Officer to ever receive two medals of Honor in the History of the Police Department. He has appeared on countless television & radio net worth talk shows and news programs across the U.S. including Court T.V. many times on Fox 5 Good Day New York, My 9, WBIA Radio NYC, concerning his books, police actions and misconduct. He has received letters of recognition from 3 Presidents of U.S.A
In addition to his heroic police exploits, Mr. Lewis is an ordained minister in the Church of God, Reformation Movement. He began his ministry at the New Testament Church of God, Located in NYC where he served as minister and Associate Pastor. Chaplin at North General Hospital, Harlem NYC. He is now a Pastor of Deliverance Church of GOD in Bronx, NY. In the Early 90's Rev. Lewis founded the Marvelous Light Crusade World Out Reach Ministries, Which to date has mushroom into a tremendous missionary outreach ministry. He is an international Conference Speaker, Evangelist, preaching and teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ across America, Africa, Europe and Canada. He tape ministry and also lectures and gives seminars on crime and drug abuse in churches and public schools across America. He also Lecture at numerous of place outside the USA. Place such as Europe (Germany and Africa).
Mr. Lewis has worked at Ground Zero New York City from Sept. 11 until the close of the operation in May of 2002. He has been invited to speak across the nation about his involvement in the rescue and recovery effort at Ground Zero, among other things. He also has appeared on television, radio and in newspapers, and the September 2002 issue of Billy Graham Decision Magazine.
Mr. Lewis is a former medal-winning track star and coach. He is a martial arts expert, and a private pilot. He is a businessman, President of High Tech Investigations and Security. Through it all he always finds time to dedicate himself to work among youth. Recently spoke at Good Shepard High School, In Red Hook Brooklyn. This unique man truly brings meaning to the title "modern day hero".
