POEM FOR LILI.
It is time to go; to leave this world
-The sun has turned cold-
Lili has gone-
Her smile warmed my body.
It has been an incredible journey-
The highs were bright as stars, the lows deep as the earth-
But the light in my eyes died, as Lili died-
And now all is black-
She has gone.
I have loved, and been loved-
Laughed and cried-
And now I am alone-
For Lili has gone.
My time in this world seems enough-
Lili's life was many years less, and should have been more-
But she has gone, and I am still here-
Why?
Without Lili my life is over-
Wherever she is-
I must soon follow.

Often the goal is nearer than, It seems to a faint and faltering man, Often the struggler has given up, When he might have captured the victor's cup, And he learned too late when the night slipped down, How close he was to the golden crown.
Success is failure turned inside out-- The silver tint of the clouds of doubt, And you never can tell how close you are, It may be near when it seems so far, So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit-- It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.
