I am an active Sellaband "believer", supporting new unsigned music acts and I also try to promote signed artists I like through sites like this and other forums. I love live music and movies and watching soccer (I am a Reading FC fan). I watch a fair bit of TV, reasonably selectively. I like to take photos and want to take that hobby to a semi-pro level.
Music
Always changing and eclectic but presently includes Catherine Feeny, Hawkwind, Human League, Joan as Policewoman, King Crimson (early), Pink Floyd, Tom Petty, Cat Power, Martin Simpson, Talking Heads, The Doors, Wire, plus lots of other folk music and Americana. I explore music constantly using Sellaband, my Napster membership, Amie Street and MySpace.
Movies
I'm a keen film fan (not quite a film buff in knowledge terms) and have attended film societies and clubs since I was 18. I have wide-ranging tastes including foreign language films but favourites include Spirited Away, The Third Man, the original Solaris, Pulp Fiction, Kagemusha, Tell No-one, Hidden (Cache), Donnie Darko, Lantana, Double Indemnity, The Maltese Falcon, M. I guess I like films with a stylish look to them and of course a great script.
Television
24, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Desperate Housewives, CSI (Las Vegas), The Wire, Dexter, Hustle, Culture Show, Later, Match of the Day.
Books
Occasional "quality" novels recommended by my wife and her book club, but intruth I seldom read a novel!
Heroes
Anyone who stands up for peace and justice, corny though it may sound.
My main reason for being here is to find and promote good music. My main focus for promotion is Sellaband, the site allowing anyone who likes the music to invest in the artist's next album. Outside Sellaband, one of my favourite artists is Catherine Feeny, who is about to embark on a short UK tour. Don't miss her!
Thanks so much, Richard!! Glad to hear from people who enjoy discovering new music. Really appreciate the support and your kind words. Hope you're having a great wknd!

’’The Sunday Express (five stars) ***** It’s clear from the title track that you are listening to something special with O’Connor’s second solo album… It’s time for KT, Sandi and Amy to make room because this should launch a new Scottish star into the charts. ’’
The Herald (four stars) **** ''O’Connor has one of the best voices heard in Scotland in some time, and a set of fine songs to show it off…''
The List (four stars) **** There is an unmistakable modern twist to her music, and she flits effortlessly between, husky poppiness on the likes of ‘Saturday Man’ to soulful stripped down and spine tingling.
Hello Richard. It's nice to see you here as well. If you'd like to check out music away from SAB, I invite you to visit my friends Bob Cheevers and also Gandalf Murphy. Very different, but among my actual friends.
