"It doesn't matter whether we are getting anything out of it.Whether there is a response is secondary. The mere act of devotion is its own reward. It brings transformation"

" I can't say with traditional certainty why I am a bassist. I didn't choose the instrument out of neccessity(a garage band needed a bassist) and I had no particular penchant for bass players (or their supposed role in a band) as a whole, never been very interested in learning someone's parts, any of that... Even today, my relationship with the bass is always in a state of flux. I believe in the presence of divinity when this instrument(or its variations) is in my hands. I have come to think of the music cosmogenously. Have rid myself of the need to posess it - to compare it - to think I must be a master of any one particular style, let alone many - choosing rather to accept its presence and accompanying music as an indication of my progress or current compass point in life. I do know intrinsically that it is the instrument I was meant to use for the conveyance of the sounds and vibrations I hear and feel."

A few of the superlatives attached to the far reaching exploits of Lowell Richard Levene - Sims... They are also deep reservoirs of inspiration for his expressionistic bass meanderings
