About me:
SUMMARY---http://www.magiworldentertainment.com/Home/tabid/1085/Default.aspx The Transatlantic Slave Trade is one of the most catastrophic chapters in our history. For four centuries, millions of African men, women and children were captured, traded, shipped across the Atlantic Ocean and sold into slavery. Yet it is an account which remains fundamentally untold. But one of the most unspeakable enigmatic organizations from this cataclysmic condition emerged from the New World (America). This secret society is shrouded in mystery, fantastical lore, legend, and rumor. This organization has many names, but it’s better known as CANA. Now it’s one hundred and ninety years later and the organization not only survived as a secret society; they thrived as one. But with the changing of times, so has CANA.. Over the years, the organization has split into four branches. And Manican (a high ranking member called The Gyasi) has began to see the perfect opportunity to rise to power and ensure his legacy by bringing together all four branches to form one whole once again; while revealing the hidden and often shocking history of a secret society so undetectable, monolithic, and silently corporate that the earlier members dubbed it “The Owls.”
Who I'd like to meet:
Greetings: I had the opportunity to prescreen read The Gathering of Owls The Mind-Set of a Gyasi by C.L. Thompson available/release February 14, http://www.magiworldentertainment.com/ An African American secret society so undetectable, monolithic, and silently corporate, that the earlier members dubbed it "The Owls." Comments From: Christian freelance writer, J. Maxwell This sheer force of creative energy is changing the dimensions of American literature! This graphic novel is a very impressive and brilliant piece of fiction. Once you begin reading its very, very hard to put down. In a civilization that wants to be entertained, but crave wisdom and encouragement Thompson's work is undeniably a blessing. Library Journal, Amy Simmons A page-turner that will keep the readers' attention, and a powerful literary acheivement! Regardless of where it is shelved, this book belongs in every library. There is nothing like it. Hip-Hop freelance writer Brick Wall Powerful and prophetic fiction that is addictive. The ultimate visual experience; this is definitely the future of graphic novels. African American Literature continues to evolve! Contemporary writer Jamie Weiss Groundbreaking, breathtaking, hypnotic and the most gorgeous piece of fiction ever produced! The third time I read this book, my feet was kicked up and I was drinking crushed grapes. This novel marks the debut of a clever writer! The Gathering of Owls is probably the best piece of literature I have come across it kept my heart pumping through every page. I discovered some things about myself as a woman and a person. This novel has everything and it is so close to every individuals' secret heart. A visual truth of what may have been and what will be the future. gatheringofowls.com For more information contact crist9191971@yahoo.com

'City Smells' is a new literary project set up by the Edit Red Writing Community.

We are running three writing competitions, Flash Fiction, Creative Non-Fiction and Poetry, all with the theme 'City Smells. The winners of each of these competitions will win $100. But more than this, we will take the best work from each competition and compile a paperback 'City Smells' anthology. The writers who make it into the 'City Smells' anthology will each receive free copies of the book and be paid a royalty in book sales.

To submit to these competition and stand a chance of being published in the 'City Smells' book you must be a member of Edit Red, as the submission process is automated. Joining Edit Red and entering these competitions is 100% free. If you make it into the book, we will pay royalties based on book sales.

Edit Red has existed for many years and was created and is still managed today by non-fiction author Alan Emmins, creative writing teacher Chris Lee Ramsden and literary reviewer Sean Merrigan.

If you are not already a member, we hope you will join and take part in this great literary event. Sign up here for free!

Regards
Alan, Sean and Chris
