  • Bio

Rich Hopkins has been playing music proffesionally since 1986 with his first band, the SIDEWINDERS which became the SAND RUBIES IN 1991 (a long boring story). After 3 major label releases world wide on MAMMOTH/RCA/DEMON U.K. AND POLYGRAM recors and countless tours around the USA with bands like: THE HOODOO GURUS, THE REPLACEMENTS, CHARLIE SEXTON, DRIV'N AND CRYIN AND THE REMBRANDT'S to name a few, the band broke up in summer 1993. Rich immediately started up his solo vehicle with the LUMINARIOS which has been a band that has consisted of many of his friends from Tucson, El Paso, Minniapolis and Austin. Some of the more prominent musicians who have passed through the Luminarios door have been: MICHEAL DAVIS(MC-5), DAVID SEGER(NAKED PREY), TOM COOK AND KENT MILITZER(MAGNOLIAS), STEFAN GEORGE, ALAN DURHAM(ALEJANDRO ESCOVEDO)..to name a few. Rich has recorded and/or produced over 40 full lenth albums including the GIN BLOSSOMS' "DUSTED" that came out on SAN JACINTO RECORDS IN 1989 and would eventually be most of the songs that they would rerecord for their major release "NEW MISERABLE EXPERIENCE". Other notable albums produced: BLACK SUN ENSEMBLE'S "PSYCHO MASTER EL"/"SKY PILOT", THE SUN KINGS "ADIOS". Rich also has produced all of the SIDEWINDERS/SAND RUBIES AND LUMINARIOS albums. ......This profile was edited with ..ProfileDazzle Editor.............. .. .. .. .. ..
