The jam started in the late 80's on a Wed. night at the China Club when the club was on west 75th and Broadway in NYC. It was called the "Pro Jam" and it was at that.......a Pro Jam! The band was called Cat Lingo and I co- hosted it with Julio Fernandez and Judy Tint was our host during the night. It developed into the most sort after live music event in the city for many years. We had major artists from all over the world come in and jam with me....the list was incredible! The jam went through many changes as Julio and I both went on the road. I went out with Billy Joel and The Beach Boys and Julio with Spyro Gyra. When I came back it moved from club to club in the city. Bobby Nathan then took it over at The Triad. I joined him and we moved it to The Le Bar Bat. From there I took it over again and formed a new band with John, Chris, George and Jim with Lisa as our host and singer and started it at an east side club called Decade. We soon moved it over to The Cutting Room ,where it was for five wonderful years. The jam has now found a new home at The Bitter End.

Just wanted to say what a pleasure it was to hear you and the multitude of fantastic musicians last Monday night. My friend and I just happened on the Bitter End not realizing what we were about to witness. The way each musician worked together and off each other while following your lead was terrific. I have told all my friends that when we go back to New York we have to work in a Monday night at The Bitter End. Also, I must mention that other than us, there were maybe 2 other tourists and only 5 other women in the club (3 of which, work there). Even with these odds, we were made to feel at home and totally relaxed. I always say musicians are the best people. Thanks for a great night! Suzanne
