Some call it country, some call it rock and roll.
But whatever the sound, it is sure to be found.
With a heart, rhythm and soul.
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member Richie Furay has been a pioneering force in rock music and country music. A founding member of Buffalo Springfield, Poco, and SHF, he was an innovator of new musical forms, a great songwriter, and last and definitely not least, some of Rock and Roll's best vocals.
Richie Furay started his musical career playing folk clubs in the 1960s. He then made the decision to leave his home in Ohio and make the move to Greenwich Village in New York City. Soon after, Richie was asked to join a folk group that would consist of nine people. The group was called The Au Go Go Singers. One of the members of this group turned out to be Stephen Stills.
After the Au Go Go dream was over, Stephen Stills moved to L.A. and asked Richie to join him. Soon the two young musicians met up with Neil Young, Bruce Palmer, and Dewey Martin. The five of them would join together in 1967 to form the Buffalo Springfield. The group produced three great albums before disbanding in 1968: Buffalo Springfield, Buffalo Springfield Again, and Last Time Around. While working on Last Time Around with Jim Messina, Richie and Jim discovered they wanted to form the same type of group. Poco was born.
Poco was an inovative direction in music. The band recorded some of the first- and best- country rock music of the sixties and seventies. After Randy Meisner (soon to be in The Eagles) and Jim Messina (soon to be in Loggins and Messina) left Poco, the group consited of Rusty Young, George Grantham, Paul Cotton, and Timothy B. Schmit (soon to replace Meisner in The Eagles). Richie left Poco in 1974 to join Chris Hillman (from the Birds) and J.D. Souther to form the group SHF. After two albums with SHF, Richie pursued his solo career.

Thanks so much for the friend addition Richie - like many others, your music has been nothing short of inspirational to me! In fact when I was learning my main instrument-(the bass gtr.) many years ago, one of the albums that people heard me practice to at l-o-u-d volumes-(even from the street below, as I was in a brownstone building on the 3rd floor) was "A good feelin' to know". Every tune on that album I consider special because of that cool learning experience!... needless to say, if you ever need a new bassplayer/singer/songwriter, feel freeto keep me in mind - I'd be honored to work with you.
Look forward to seeing you at the Coach House in Oct. I was hoping my band could open for you, but it looks like they already have it covered. Oh well, maybe sometime. All my best to you.
Thanks again for the add! We really would love to have you and your group down for a free haircut this month if you have time. As an active element of our neighborhood's scene, we will host local bands on our website and allow you to blog and post up show dates… Its not done but we will let you know when!

I hope you get to enjoy your Memorial Day weekend with your family.
well, it has been a long and winding road, and an even longer time coming, but my debut CD, I Remember, is FINALLY HERE!!! YAY!!!!!
to celebrate, American HeartBeat Records(tm) has arranged a FREE DOWNLOAD of Now Is The Time in exchange for a valid email address. Now Is The Time is a brand new, upbeat song I wrote: we are living in turbulent times. suddenly it is okay to be greedy and heartless? no way! a song of hope for our future, a new vision of America and the world.
we have a bunch of exciting things planned to kick this whole thing off, and we need to get a better picture of who our friends are, so the FREE DOWNLOAD form will ask you a few questions, like, what is your country and nearest major city. it all takes maybe 15 seconds.
anyhoo, the FREE DOWNLOAD, and the FUN, begins at www.JAETCHISON.com
I look forward to getting to know you a little better, and I thank you SO VERY MUCH for your friendship and support!
please tell your friends about JAETCHISON.com, and ask them to sign up for the email list, too! FUN things are coming up!!
