A MESSAGE FROM JOE:
If you still have a locker at Richland with or without stuff in it, you need to get it out or have Joe remove it by Friday August 3rd. Otherwise, your lock will be cut off.
New lockers will be installed during the week of August 13th. New locker assignments will be done the week of August 26th. Because the new lockers are custom-fitted to instrument sizes, there will be fewer options and less space for anything but your instrument.
If I have your combination and your locker is empty, I have already removed your lock. You can claim it from me when classes begin.
If you have any trouble getting access to the storage room, call me.
The Richland College Symphonic Wind Ensemble, directed by Joe Perea, is open to all qualified players of wind, brass, and percussion instruments who attend Richland College. Members of this diverse group include students majoring in music, non-music majors who enjoy playing their instruments, as well as emeritus students who are active players in area church and community musical organizations. The group performs a wide variety of music from the concert band repertoire including marches, transcriptions, and contemporary original works for band. The group performs 4 times per semester, with 2 of the performances scheduled during regular class hours. They rehearse Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 11:15am-12:10pm. Additional sectional rehearsals outside of class time occur on an as-needed basis, typically once every 2-3 weeks per section. Students enrolled in the group can also take a 30 minute private lesson each week for 1 additional credit hour ($39/semester for in-county residents). Our faculty are active performers in area groups including the Dallas Wind Symphony. For more information about playing in the group, email Joe Perea at joeperea@dcccd.edu.

P.S. I have a list containing the Companies and Job Positions that they are hiring for. I have that list posted as a blog on my page titled, “Employers List,” make sure you check it out. Be mindful that there will be more employers at the fair then there may be reflected in my list (since employers are still signing up).
I feel super special cause I'm in the top list ♥ I hope you are all having a wonderful summer because you deserve it after another fabulous year of music. Love you guys and expect to see me pop in for visits in the fall :)
Hey everyone, this year's Carnival of Steel is supposed to be the biggest and best yet so come on out this coming Saturday - The 21st to help us run the event and have a good time! Plus you'll get to spend another whole day with ME! :) Seriously, if you haven't been to this thing in the past then I expect you to be there, and if you have been to it before then I expect you to be there as well, I'll be keeping tabs so don't disappoint me. :)
Wuz up everyone. We're halfway through our break and I already wanna get back at it and play some amazing music! Joe, I don't care what we play as long as it's loud, fast, and hard! (Hard as in difficult you perv!)
Alright...so one day was an all brass/percussion ensemble, now all of a sudden there's just a woodwind ensemble.....WHY DIDNT WE KNOW AHEAD OF TIME!? Grr...
I believe....(this could be dangerous) that even when I leave for TCU in the Spring that I will still have a spot on the top list.
I'm just that big of a Richland nerd that I'll be able to maintain my 'status quo'
And watch me be taken off of the list cuz i posted this. If I am, I claim myself to be a musical martyr.
