There was a time, a time before DJs...When the local coverband reigned supreme. When people believed everything they heard on stage. This was an age when only men were allowed to play guitars. And in St Louis, one cover band was more man then the rest. Their name was Rich Mahogany. They were like gods playing amongst mere mortals. They had voices that could make a wolverine purr and suits so fine they made Sinatra look like a hobo. In other words, Rich Mahogany is the balls....
So when I was watching an interview with the Kids In The Hall just now they started to make fun of the younger people who don't know of them. I guess it boils down to possibly half a generation gap there (and probably who had cable when their show aired, liked Canadian off-humor, and was okay watching 5 gay guys do sketch comedy. . . or if their parents were okay with it). They said to Google "culture" and "culture before 1995" and "1995" as a joke. I did it as an experiment and this is what I got with Google Image:
For "culture before 1995": PCU was a great movie involving Jeremy Pippen before he became an asshole! It may not have been what older people wanted out of culture, but it did show a culture and I laughed my ass off.
For "1995": You can clearly see here that things didn't start to go downhill, but jumped off of a cliff.
For "modern culture": I don't really think I need to say anything here about Ronald Mc-Shut-Up-Bitch-Donald and his Utter Hos.
