    Rich,

    Thank you very much for your add and your message ;
    The Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Big Band remains on my mind, as one of the main rememberings from the Nice Jazz Festival;
    In 1978, I was 18 and the impact was huge on me, the first time I heard this orchestra, with all this energy driven and the impression of freedom it was seeming to leave.
    It was amazing to see young horn players like you and Dick Oatts, playing so “modern” and powerful phrases.
    The rhythm section Lewis/Reid/Danko was a dream too!
    This year, I was at the festival every night and would have seen your orchestra performing at least 6-7 times.
    If at this time, someone would have told me I would have a communication with you more than 30 years later…!
    Hope to see you performing , sooner or later!
    With all my respect.
