Movies
Richard has recently been contacted by Robert Bartel, writer director producer of the George Harrison documentary. He is interested in casting Richard as John for a new production called "Imagine Yesterday". It is based on a dream Paul McCartney once had, it is in essence a re-enactment of the dream and the journey.
Television
Richard has more of a love for local radio than TV. Though he has appeared as a hero on Tv as lennon. Richard has a great respect for Oliver Postgard the creator and writer of some of Britain's most outstanding children's television programmes. As for radio Richard has performed his songs live on Harborough FM The performance was a live acoustic slot which went out on air. More appearances are planned in future.
Books
Richard is working on a new childrens book called "Barkley the tree & the herbivores". More about this to follow!
Heroes
On speaking to Richard about this topic he admits he does not have a hero, as he puts it "every selfless person who puts themselves before others has a greatness beyond your imagination. If you want to be someones hero in my view you would be wise never to look for fame".
Rich Szerman started creating music over 20 years ago with a project called "experiments with tape recorders". The experimental side of music was put on the back burner for a while developing his song writing skills with 6 and 12 string guitars. This site is now devoted to some of Richards solo experimental works, which he produces at home. Experiments were the nature of Richard's music learning, and the experimental side re-developed itself after a chance meeting with John Wall at his home studio.
"Being completely conventional about writing music would be too predictable - it's a real lesson to learn about minimalism in music", says Richard. "Small acorns can turn into large trees, and that's the same for music - make it work in a small way then elaborate".
Richard has written a large catalog of songs over the years, and gradually they are now all appearing on this his official Myspace website along with his bands site 10,000 Girls Called Sarah. The music player on the left is well worth hearing!
Who I'd like to meet: Richard is very keen to meet and communicate with publishers interested in his music for use for other artists. He is also interested in his work to be used in film and other musical sectors. Please get in touch!
