Die Band aus der Region Schönbühl gibt es seit 1998. Richtaste besteht aus zwei Bürdern, einem fast Nachbarn, einem Mitschüler der Gewerbeschule und einem jungen Gitarristen, der mal im Publikum stand... 2007 produzierten die Alternative-Rocker ihr erstes offizielles Album "Richtaste". Im gleichen Jahr gewann die Band die "New Talent Tour" von Orange Music. Zu den grössten Auftritten gehören das Woodrock Openair, Wasserwerk Bern, Abart ZH, Mont Soleil Openair, Bierhübeli, Bären Buchsi, Openair Etziken und das Caprices Festival in Crans Montana. Aktuell ist seit dem 15. Mai 2009 das zweite Album "Lights And Shades" auf dem Markt. Richtaste ist bereit für die grossen Bühnen, freut sich aber auch über rockige Auftritte in kleinen Pub's...

Richtaste: Fresh Start with second album

The new, second album "Lights and shades" leads Richtaste to the next level of Rock'n'Roll. "When I hear the songs today, I really feel that at the moment we could not be better," says singer and songwriter Stefan Fankhauser. And with a sasy grin on his face he adds: "Our sound has more eggs than before!" Before, that was when Richtaste came out with their debut. "Our expectations were not met," admits Fankhauser and relates also to support as well as the implementation of their musical ideas. "We were busy with the production for so much time, that we already were filled up to the top with new ideas when releasing." These were now implemented on "Lights and Shades". 14 Tracks were recorded together with Pat Aeby (Ex-Krokus) in the triangle Nidau-Lausanne-Oppligen; 14 tracks that mean at least one step forward for Richtaste. Unapologetically the five now dare to face also critical issues. Richtaste know that light and shadow in the real world are as close together as in the show business. "Supermen" i.e. simply states that at least a dozen bluedressed superheroes is needed to save the planet before the impending demise. And "Tom Rocket" deals with the question of what drives a man to spend the nights slaughtering anything that moves in a shooter-game using a pseudonym. All wrong if you now come to think Richtaste was a melancholic Depro band. "Well, of course we ask critical questions," said Fankhauser, "but I think that we always found a positive approach." Just as in real life: Who hangs his head, loses the orientation and eventually turns in circles. This danger does not exist for Richtaste. The guys are walking their way with too much fire and drive. "We have tried with the (major label) and have learned a lot," says front man Stefan with conviction. "Nevertheless, we are now going the traditional way: play, play and play again, and try to thus get our name to the people." And with "Lights and Shades" they have convincing arguments in hand for convincing the people about themselves. Experience shows that the Bernese know how to convince on large stages as the Openair Etziken just as well as in small rural pubs. In short: Richtaste are ready for the next level.
