Sounds Like
10,000 Maniacs. NO, not the band! I say that only because in 16 year's time I recorded over 10,000 song versions of about 500 different tunes with different personnel and musical configurations. Definitely unique, fun and inspiring to say the least! Thanks for the memories...I hope there are many more fond memories yet to come! ~ Peace, Love & Music ~ Rick
Artist, Craftsman, Photojournalist & Retired Career & Technology Instructor, Rick Bowman, has been a musician for over 45 years and has been recording an eclectic variety of music since 1970 with over 150 musicians and band-mates with over 500 tapes and CDs to his credit as a recording engineer and producer.
_____________________________________________________________
Rick played on his first vinyl record album in 1974 and has competed in east-coast competitions since 1972 as a stage band drummer in high school. Rick has played piano, keyboards and bass guitar for over 30 years along with songwriting and singing. Like Roy Orbison, Rick has a true 4+ octave vocal range from bass, baritone and tenor to alto. But Rick admits that he'll never be any match for such great talents such as Roy Orbison or Johnny Cash. ______________________________________________________________
Rick met Johnny Cash in 1973 in Houston, TX. and worked with Johnny Cash's long-time manager, Lou Robin, for over 5 years on a Cash Tribute Compilation CD with 75 musicians world-wide as Executive Producer. The 24-song musical compilation was approved by John Carter Cash and Johnny's manager, Lou Robin. _____________________________________________________________
"It was quite the learning experience", Rick said, and he added: "I wish I knew then what I know now with regards to the recording industry when you're playing with the big boys!" Rick and Bev Bowman have been to Johnny and June Cash's homestead, The House of Cash Museum and hosted a hymn sing at Johnny and June Carter Cash's grave site in Hendersonville, TN. in 2003 after Johnny passed on. _____________________________________________________________
Cash Manager, Lou Robin, now at age 72, was the associate producer of the hit 2005 film "Walk the Line" and has managed and promoted such acts as The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Waylon Jennings (The Highwaymen), Carl Perkins, Hank Williams Jr., Steve Earle, Brooks & Dunn, John Mellencamp, Judy Garland, Rosanne Cash, John Carter Cash, Cheryl Crow, George Jones, Steve Earle, Rick Bowman and many more recording artists too numerous to mention. "Working with Lou Robin was a great honor and a pleasure", said Rick. _____________________________________________________________

Ever wondered what to do in the event of a nuclear threat?
A while ago I found stuff that inspired me to make this film:
Living Under the Shadow of the Nuclear Umbrella
Both artistic (ensure you get the background music!) and educational, it primarily comprises official British government civil defence advice.
Though source materials are quite aged, much remains relevant today.

Hi Rick,
Thank you for your kind thoughts of yesterday. It is not often enough that I am able to work with refreshing and honorable folks such as yourself. No doubt you also deal with a lot of people that are solely concerned with their own agendas. I guess we aren't going to change their outlook, but we don't have to be like them either. Take care.
Best, Lou
(Lou Robin: Manager - Johnny and June Carter Cash, 1972 to 2003. Manager of Business Affairs, Johnny Cash Estate, 2003 until Present. )
