  • Bio

DARK & STORMY are Rick Demers of Norton, MA and Joel Greene of Bristol, RI. They have been performing as a duo in the Southern New England area for the past nine years. Be it Newport in the summer or Taunton in the winter you'll find them switching musical gears, as they love playing Celtic, folk, blues, tasteful pop and rock covers, as well as their own compositions. Their first C.D. "truth be told" which Teresa Storch of CDFreedom.com likened it to "time well spent in a mellow honky tonk dive…" featured Joel playing either violin, mandolin, and electric guitar accompanied by Rick on acoustic guitar and harmonica. The new CD, "Along the Way," produced by Jack Gauthier, of Lakewest Studio, is more of the same, and then some, with the inclusion of the seasoned rhythm section of Marty Ballou and Marty Richards who added the desired feel on ten new original songs and two D&S favorite covers. For more information visit the Dark & Stormy web site (www.darkandstormymusic.com) where you can see the duo's YouTube performances, and also hear Dark & Stormy cuts (19) recorded live earlier in 2009.The band's web link located on this myspace page is also the best source for schedules, and CD availability. For Booking or questions kindly contact Rick via email at darkandstormy@comcast.net * Rick also spends a good amount of time in the St Petersburg FL area performing as a solo artist.
