Plugging away at his passion for music, triple-threat composer/producer/performer Rick Knowles will stop you in your tracks with songs that hit close to home. He makes a connection to listeners with his lyrical conversation and fresh sounds ready and hot for radio. Gaining inspiration from his musically inclined family, his passion for playing instruments stemmed from an early age. Writing songs became second nature. Rick could sing, play piano, guitar, bass, and drums, giving him a taste of what he was yet to pursue. Growing up in a small town twenty minutes west of the Nation’s Capital - Ottawa, Ontario Canada, Rick continues to hone his craft. His experiences lead to the release of his 2004 debut solo album titled "Rush." The breakout single "Walk Away" achieved local and national airplay in markets such as Toronto, Ottawa, and Kingston. It made the top 100 songs of 2004 on the national CHUM chart, and Global Internet sales throughout Sweden, UK, Australia, Germany, Japan, Korea, Italy, and the US. Rick has also been a winner and finalist in four songwriting competitions, one of them being the National Songwriting Competition in Canada. Rick was also a top five finalist in the CKBY Gatineau Clog Talent contest and has received three invitations to perform before thousands at the Canada Day festivities on Parliament Hill. A truly gifted artist with loads of untapped talent!
