About Ric Lafontaine

A driving force on the Vancouver Island music scene since 1990, Ric formed the Nanaimo Songwriters Circle in 1991 (which meets monthly at the Mermaid's Mug in Nanaimo BC Canada) and Island Showcase in 1998 which has become an annual event featuring songwriters from Vancouver Island including Valdy, Colleen Eccleston, Gary Fjellgaard, Shari Ulrich and many, many others. Since 2000, Ric has released 5 CDs. the Wind Gone Mad 2000 Magic Garbage Can 2002, 2004 Ball of Flames 2005 Long Road In Time 2007 Magic Garbage Can 'Acoustic' 2007 In the summer of 2002, Ric created an online CD Store and Archive for Vancouver Island Recording Artists called Cd Isle. (cdisle.ca) Today it boasts over 1600 cds recorded by island artists in BC.
