For as long as I can remember, I've always loved the feeling of low
frequencies hitting me square in the middle of my chest. When I was just 4
years old, I thought I'd reached nirvana when I discovered the bass control
knob on my parents old hi-fi system. When I turned this knob up and hugged
the speaker, I felt the vibrations pulse through my body and was instantly
and forever a changed person! From then on, all I wanted to do was play the
bass. At the age of 15, when I got my first pay cheque from my very first job, I immediately went to the local music store and bought my first electric bass and amp. (The total for both only came to $60..hahaha.) Within a week, I was already working with 2 bands and since then, I haven't looked back.
I've become an accomplished electric fretted and fretless bassist, double
bassist and keyboardist and have worked and toured live and worked as a
recording session player with many great artists including
(alphabetically):
Andy Summers (Police), country singer Beverley Mahood & Lace, Billy Sheets' Undercover, trumpet/fiddle player extraordinaire Daniel Lapp, producer Dave Ogilvie (Nine Inch Nails), drummer Dave
Ruffy (Sinead O'Connor), canadian bluester David Gogo, french jazz popster dbClifford, drummer Denton Whited
(Philosopher Kings), Depeche Mode, members of DEVO, slider Doug Cox, icelandic producer Jakob Magnusson, producer Joby Baker, hip hop rapper Kia Kadiri, Kuba, electronic jazzers Lappelectro, slide guitarist Lester Quitsau, popster Lindy, Lowen & Navarro, bohemian Mae Moore, Marc Almond (Soft Cell), yup, even Michael Jackson, producer Mick Glossop, drummer Mitch Mitchell (Jimi Hendrix), singer Neal Osborne (54-40), guitarist Neal X (Sigue Sigue Sputnik), slide guitarist
Rachelle Van Zanten, 1 percussionist Richie Gajate Garcia, guitarist/songwriter Rick
Boston, Rickie Lee Jones, drummer Ritchie Hayward (Little Feat), drummer
Roger Taylor (Duran Duran), Sass Jordan, roots/country artist Sean Hogan, the one and only Taj Mahal, producer Tchad Blake,

All is going well, I'm off for the summer so that's always good. Both of my kids are married! Still playing and teaching some music. How's everything with You?
Hey Rick, Ya know that picture of Wheeze onstage, that you put on Uncle Marc's MySpace? Is that from the Starwood? Our little home stage? Just curious. You guys got me up on that stage one night to sing.I will always remember that. It was the second birthday you guys made special for me.The first one was in the main room,my 21st. You got me up onstage, and Kris sang Happy B'day to me.I had worked to decorate that place all day,and didnt even know it was for me.Lol!
I'm headed to Cowtown tomorrow to hear the final mixes at Russell's place . I'll send you the results soon . You rocked our world ! I'll bring Lincoln down to Vic soon for a hang with Zen .
