In his new single, "Honky Tonk Road Trip" (co-written with Country Weekly's Larry Holden) Rick Monroe paints a vivid picture "Honky Tonk Road Trip" Video. Through his artistry, Monroe creates a clear visual about a musician who hits the road, performing at every honky tonk he can find to wash away the pain of a broken heart only to find there was perfection waiting for him right around the corner. While not completely autobiographical, Rick Monroe is certainly a Country Music Road warrior who isn't adverse to taking his music directly to the people. Rick says, "You know all those reality shows on TV... my life IS a reality show."
He's opened for the likes of Charlie Daniels, Dwight Yoakam, Montgomery Gentry, Marshall Tucker, Darryl Worley, Craig Morgan, Eric Church, Emerson Drive, Patty Loveless, Little Texas, Ricochet, The Birds, Black Hawk, Trick Pony, Chely Wright, Sammy Kershaw and Billy Ray Cyrus & Miley Cyrus. He's toured Europe for the last 3 years and performed an average of 100 dates a year for the last 2 years. While at home in Nashville, he even makes room for a steady gig at Wildhorse Saloon.
Monroe's new and upcoming Jager Country Tour with Pat Green and Randy Houser is a first for the German based Jagermeister. The company has decided to jump into the world of country music in a big way via this summer's upcoming 35 plus date extravaganza as a result of Monroe's persistence and dedication to the project. Monroe believed in the tour to such an extent that he actually brought his band to GERMANY to play for the powers-that-be at Jagermeister. The Rick Monroe Band remains the first band ever to perform live for the honchos at Jager Corporate in Germany.
No stranger to success Rick's last album, Against the Grain spawned the hit single Midnight Rider. Having received rave reviews in print and accolades on television shows such as EXTRA and ET, Rick's gritty Midnight Rider video is still in rotation on CMT PURE CMT.com. And in support of the Against the Grain album for Divorce Records, Rick and his band successfully completed a 75 station Radio tour for "Midnight Rider."
And other corporations have noticed the artist's allure as well. Monroe has picked up sponsorship from Peavey, Jagermeister, Resitol Hats, Blue Berrry Guitars, Vegas Fuel Energy Drink, GHS, Visual Sound and others.
A true ambassador of the genre, Monroe was among the first country artists to perform in Russia and China. His extensive touring history includes performances throughout Russia, Bosnia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Hungary, Honduras, Ecuador, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Bahamas, Germany, England, Netherlands and Switzerland, sharing the stage with a who's who of musical greats. At the request of Pete Peterson, US Ambassador to Vietnam, Rick performed at the week-long 4th of July celebrations in Hanoi and Ho Chi Mihn City. Monroe was honored to sing the US National anthem for the 5-year anniversary of the re-opening of diplomatic relations between the countries. This marking the first time the anthem had been sung at a public event in Vietnam in over 25 years.
He followed that up with a Command Performance for the former President of the Soviet Union Mikhail Gorbachev on the USS Sequoia Presidential Yacht, Washington, DC. This lead to a trip to Russia where Monroe performed at several orphanages and was a featured performer on REN TV's Bulat Okudzhava Festival in Moscow, Russia
Rick Monroe takes life experiences that we all share, the events that touch our hearts and creates music that speaks directly to the soul in each of us. Whether in an intimate setting accompanied only by his acoustic guitar, a good old honky-tonk, or on stage playing with his band to thousands at an outdoor festival halfway around the world, Rick strives to connect to his audiences. He is always a huge crowd pleaser.

The 12-song CD soundtrack, that goes with the novel, will be at most online music stores and my own web pages. Already it is on my profile pages. We will have links up very soon.
Wishing you a happy and a prosperous new year. Hope all your projects are on track. I'd like to hear how you are doing.
A child is a butterfly in the wind, Some can fly higher than others, But each one flys the best it can. Why compare one against the other? Each one is different, Each one is special, Each one is beautiful.
To believe is to know that every day is a new beginning. Is to trust that miracles happen, and dreams really do come true.
To believe is to see angels dancing among the clouds, To know the wonder of a stardust sky and the wisdom of the man in the moon.
To believe is to know the value of a nurturing heart, The innocence of a child's eyes and the beauty of an aging hand, for it is through their teachings we learn to love.
For every child who cries at night Alone with shame and fright For every child who wants so much To only feel a gentle touch For the beaten cild, who cries in pain Whose tears run silent, like the rain For the child used to satisfy lust Who never learns to love or trust For the child taken from her/his home And made to feel so all alone For the child whose home is just a shell Where life becomes a living hell For the child who smiles but cannot feel Because of scars too deep to heal For every child who yearns for love I hope and pray to God above To hear your cries and heal your pain And give you back your life again
Just stopping in to wish you a great 2010 and read your blog noticing that you will be performing just over the big ditch lol from us in Feb/10(NY)...hmm....congrats with being added to that and although it would be great to venture and get to that show, realistically I would more than likely drive around in circles and eventually by the time I found the venue, it'd be summer lol... best wishes k
