    Rick and Roll's Interests
GeneralI like a lot of things. In no order, music, live performance, sports (crazy about disc golf), my family, small groups, numbers, inane non-moneymaking trivia, and the group interaction with friends . I can't stand pretenses and "Best of" collections, and self-centered assholes.
MusicI'm a internet DJ with a show called "The Rickter Scale" (see below under companies). I play mostly progressive rock, but I've been known to sneak in a bit of everything. I've seen 500+ different bands since 1979 and like at least that many more, a lot of diversity. There are so many to list and I will not even try. But feel free to follow the links and ask anything you like. I'm honored to feature great music you normally wouldn't hear.
MoviesI don't usually have time to watch but when I do I love movies. My favorite movie was The Carey Treatment, 1972 with James Coburn and Jennifer O'Neill. Not really spectacular...just entertaining in an understated way. Spinal Tap was a great flick too. I have a ton of DVD's I never have time to watch.
TelevisionI've got 240 of the 272 Hawaii 5-0's on VHS, and now have the first four seasons on DVD. I love it. It had criminals getting away, and it was gritty. Not everyone was right, and it was real. I can recite complete episodes of the original Star Trek, and like comedies like "In Living Color" and British humor (Python, Black Adder, Mr. Bean, Fawlty Towers). M*A*S*H was also a favorite. I love watching sports, and that's one of the few things that can divert me from accomplishing things.
BooksTry "Bullies, Tyrants, and Impossible People" by local lawyer Ron Shapiro. George Carlin's "Brain Droppings" and Neil Peart's "Ghost Rider" are also high on the list.
HeroesI try not to have heroes....we're all just people. But some people I admire...Ian Anderson, George Carlin, Bobby Clarke (hockey), Cal Ripken, Al Gore. I respect all musicians, especially the ones I have become friends with over the years. It is a incredibly fun community to be a part of. I also greatly admire Roger Federer. He is the perfect combination of class, competitiveness, talent, and graciousness I've ever seen from an athelete.

   Rick and Roll's Blurbs
About me:
Always doing something, usually too much. Sleep 5-6 hours a night. Run when I can. Bowl twice a week. Coach basketball in a youth league. Have three boys. Work at a full-time and part-time job. Seen over 500 bands live, average about 2-3 shows a month. Have an internet radio show (210 shows and counting, see below). Love playing disc golf and tennis. Like long walks at the beach, if there's beer at the end of the walk.
Who I'd like to meet:
Every virtual friend I haven't met yet. And to meet everyone again that I've met. And a few well-known people, George Carlin - scratch that I was too late :( , Ian Anderson, to name a couple. And people who can have discussions without flaming or getting upset.
