Check out Brian Vander Ark, formerly of The Verve Pipe. As a songwriter, I rank him right up there with two of my other long time favorites, Billy Joel and elton John.
Some musicians come and go, but I'm pretty sure I'll still be listening to BVA 40 years from now.
I also like Nickelback, Pink Floyd, INXS (old *AND* new), Van Halen (Sammy *AND* David), and a whole slew of bands from the 80s.
