Bio
International Recording Artist and Independent Singer/Songwriter from Nashville, Tennessee, Rick Ryman is one of those Country Music artist that has stayed true to the music. His live shows are fun and full of uptempo songs that keep you entertained from start to finish. Rick likes to entertain with a song, not with a gimmick. This exciting singer/songwriter has been played on more than 3000 radio stations around the world. He has had two number singles in various countries in Europe, while finishing in the top ten in most of the other countries in Europe. His single "Workin To Live" was the debut single from the cd titled "Leg Man". It stayed on the European CMA Chart for 16 straight weeks. Rick's music has also gained much respect in getting air play in Australia and New Zealand. Rick's cd has the ability to have you tappin your toe and slappin your knee one minute, to having you deep in thought with a ballet the next. His style has been described as, traditional, redneck, straight forward country. Whatever you want to call it, there is no mistaken that its country music. Rick likes to say, "it's country music, the way it's suppose to sound". Its that simple. Rick Ryman's music relates to the American Truck Driver, the common worker, or just the average Joe. He sings and writes about his experiences in the trucking industry, and what its like to have a boss or being in today's work force. If you have ever loved or even lost in love, then you can relate to life, and Rick Rymans music. Rick Ryman reaches out to people with a song, and keeps it enjoyable for all who listen. Rick Ryman continues to spread his music by playing all over the South, and has expanded North into the Midwest. Rick is a professional in the way he puts on a show, to how he handles business, to a quality seasoned band of professional musicians. This 5 piece band called "Rick Ryman & The Workin Stiffs", take great pride in their craft, and are always striving to do the best show ever. They do a great mix of Country cover tunes, and songs that Rick Has written in each show. Rick Ryman grew up in a small river town of New Baltimore, Ohio, about 20 miles Northwest of Cincinnati. After graduating from Harrison High School, Rick joined the U.S. Air Force and bought his first guitar for his 18th birthday. Teaching himself some chords from a Merle Haggard song book he slowly developed his craft. Meeting some musicians friends in the Military helped him with his confidence to pursue music. After being honorable discharged from the Air Force, Rick tried for the most part unsuccessful, in trying to put a band together. That didn't stop him from going to Jam nights around Cincinnati, and getting up as a guest singer with bands that he knew. He soon got in to Radio Broadcasting as an Air Personality, hoping to get closer to the music business. After 5 years of fun in broadcasting, Rick noticed that his songwriting was getting better, and wanted to take his chance in Nashville. After a few years in Nashville, and meeting some great musicians from playing around town, he decided to put together his cd titled "Leg Man". This cd contains 11 great country songs, with 10 originals, and one cover. The cover tune is a re-make of the old Monkees tune, written by Neil Diamond, "I'm a believer". The cd has received great reviews and is sure to please the country music lover in you. You can visit Rick or purchase his cd titled "Leg Man" at www.RickRyman.com, or www.cdbaby.com/RickRyman. -

READ WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING ABOUT RICK RYMAN! I received a CD by Rick Ryman and listened because I had never heard of him. His LEGMAN CD is quite versatile as it covers a wide range of songs which pulls on your emotions. He kicks it off with an up tempo rendition of Neil Diamond's I'M A BELIEVER. He covers patriotic emotions with WHY I WAVE THE FLAG. He inspires you with HOLD ON TO FAITH. And let's not forget the title cut "LEGMAN". In person, he is rather quiet and softspoken, a true gentleman. We invited him to be a guest on THE GRINDERS SWITCH HOUR where he held the audiences attention. I would highly recommend Rick. -Shelia B Kix96fm Centerville, Tennessee Rick Ryman has managed to put a record together that is a just himself it reflects his lifestyle very well and feel the people who buy this record will be pleased with Ricks Vocal talent and the teamwork Rick used to make it a real good listen. -Rod Collman Country Monaro Fm Australia Rick has provied a Great Country Album for lovers of both Traditional and Modern Country Music filled with Fiddle filled Toe Tapping tunes and Heart felt ballads and a little bit of humor thrown in for good measure on the title track of the Leg Man. The album is very well produced, great instumentation and topped of with the Traditional vocals of Rick Ryman. As a Country music DJ I have found this album to be very Radio friendly reciving a great reponse from the listeners. -Rod Brady Stone cold country Yarra Valley FM 99.1 Australia Fab' new country cd from Rick-This guy sounds great!!..all tracks are very good- some fantastic foot tapping stuff with tight instrumentation..,..Love the country re-vamped opener version of the classic Monkees hit I'm A Believer-Neil should be proud of this re-working !!.....best of luck with your music career Rick-you would be top of the shop for me! -Nick Long Country music lover/buyer-Southampton England-UK “Leg Man” is the impressive debut from Tennessee country musician Rick Ryman. Ryman sings true-to-life songs with a great country vocal reminiscent of Dwight Yokum. The arrangements are in the traditional country style, filled with slide and acoustic guitar, violin, banjo, thumping bass lines, and toe-tapping drum beats. Ryman is a great storyteller, and he weaves stories into his work both sad and humorous as he sings about being a trucker, faith, working, and women. “Leg Man” is well-produced, sounds professional and is radio-friendly. The title track, “Leg Man,” has nice slide guitar and drum work, a catchy chorus, and humorous lyrics about trucking and checking out women. “You’re It” is an upbeat track with a violin, drum, bass, and banjo arrangement, great lyrics of childhood and growing up, and a heartfelt chorus. “Leg Man” is truly a triumphant debut for Rick Ryman. Its solid arrangements, true-to-life lyrics, great vocals and styling is impressive and ready for the mainstream. Fans of traditional country should definitely look into Ryman. -Chris Radioindy.com Rick Ryman is as American as they come! His small-town Ohio roots, time in the military, and stints as a radio DJ have made him just the kind of man we need to keep the age-old traditions of country music alive. A few years back, Rick landed a truck driving job in Nashville just so he could be near the music scene and maybe get a few songs recorded. Well, the result was his CD “Leg Man,” that has a lot of songs that give me confidence that the future of non-sell-out country music is in good hands with guys like Rick. "I'm A Believer", in paticular caught my attention because it made me realize that this classic rock-n-roll song probably should have been a country song all along. Brilliant cover! (Predictably, Rick reports that a lot of people in the “music biz” tried to talk him out of doing this song. I’m really glad he didn’t listen to them.)-Hoss from www.hosstheboss.com interenet radio station This album has been played over and over the last weeks and it's brave to open a country album with a cover of The Monkees 'I'm A believer' and it works out real well and Rick Ryman turns this pop song into country! Then it goes on...slower tunes and uptempo performed with the same great country feel. It's hard to pick favorite tracks here cause it's filled with very good songs here. 'We Said It All', 'Rainin' In November', 'You're It', Why I Wave The Flag' and of course 'I'm A Believer' and the title track 'Leg Man'. Give Rick a try, lay your hands on this album before it's too late. As a radio DJ I find Rick's music very radio friendly and I'm sure we'll hear more from this artist in the near future. -Kjell Horlin, MCWC Country Radio Sweden www.mcwc-radio.com View Rick Ryman and The Workin Stiffs's EPK -
