About Rick Starr

I'm an acoustic-based singer-songwriter out of Irving, TX. All of my songs are based on my Christian lifestyle. They might not overtly say the name of Jesus but ideally my Christianity should shine through in every song I sing. It is a part of who I am so I can't change that. Currently, I lead worship to the preschoolers in my church. At times, I can be seen playing at local coffeehouses in the area. As for past gigs, I have played venues such as The Door Love Lounge, Opening Bell coffee opening for Rob Blackledge, Just Off Main Coffeehouse and White Rock Coffee. On Labor Day weekend of 2006, I had the opportunity to play for over 300 singles at the Glorieta Singles Conference. Christian singer songwriter Shaun Groves personally asked me to open for him that evening. This led to singing at a Singles Conference in Grapevine. Most recently, I was one of the scheduled artists participating in a tribute to David Bowie at Opening Bell Coffee.

I sort of told the promoter we could get 300 people there. And I know there's never anything to do that weekend after Christmas, right? it's ALL AGES, so that includes children (bring earplugs) grandparents (bring... ditto) and.. i dunno... all your myspace/facebook "friends" you've been meaning to hang out with "IRL"? (bring pepper spray?) I promise to not be terrible. Nay, I promise to even be pretty good. And if I let you down, I promise to make it up to you.
