Sounds Like
I try hard to only sound like me. There are definite traditional country influences in my songs, but dont want to copy anyone else. I have my own high energy style and bring it to the stage every time I am there. Comparisons to other artist past and present are flattering however.
Born and raised in Mount Pleasant, Texas. The only son of a hard working middle class family, Ricky's country roots run deep. He developed his love of music watching his dad play for many years. He debuted his vocal styling at the tender age of 8 with “Folsom Prison Blues” with his dad's band. He has held many different musical interests over the years, but has always held true to his love of country music. After graduating from high school in Mount Pleasant, he attended Paris Junior College in Paris, Texas on a Theatre Arts scholarship. After serving in the U.S. Navy, Ricky returned to home to Texas in 1987. He continued over the years to develop his musical talents. His traditional country influences can be heard in every song. His passion and desire for country music pours out during every performance. He returned to Paris, Texas in 2000 where he worked extensively with the Paris Community Theatre. Over the next five years he performed in several plays and musicals. He also began making regular appearances at the Garland Opry in Garland, Texas. His musical desires continued to grow and in 2001 Ricky also began writing as well as performing. In July of 2005, Ricky left Paris, Texas and relocated to Hendersonville, Tennessee to further pursue his career in country music as a singer and songwriter. He has spent the last two years working writer's nights and “open mic” nights as he settled into the music scene in Nashville. He is currently working on his debut CD and hopes to have it complete by the end of May. Working hard to find a record deal. Also looking for songwriters to collaborate on new material. Thanks to all of my friends for the support and continued encouragement.
I got your back You got mine, I'll help you out Anytime. To see you hurt To see you cry, Makes me weep And wanna die. And if you agree To never fight, It wouldn't matter Who's wrong or right. If a broken heart Needs a mend, I'll be right there To the end. If your cheeks are wet From drops of tears, Don't you worry, Let go of your fears. Hand in hand Love is sent, We'll be friends Till the end.
