RIDDIMPERIALISM is a dub project from Nancy which was born in September 2006. The crew is based on a massive rythm section having a good experience of both studio and stage.
With a Dub Professor as a sidekick they develop a heavy sound using jamaican-like analog effects and samples or spoken word more typical from the french dub scene.
These One Drop addicts try to multiply collaborations with a maximum of guests: singers, horns sections, traditional instruments...trying to diversify their sound and riddims far from the minimalist english dub.
A first demo was recorded in December 2006 in Studio B Flat and mixed in London in Black Work Studio by Professor Wya.
An EP, including studio and live tracks came out in July 2007.
The first LP ("Roots PropaganDub") with lots of featurings is available since december 2008.

RIDDIMPERIALISM est un projet Dub originaire de Nancy qui a vu le jour en septembre 2006. Le collectif est basé sur une puissante section basse / batterie complétée par une guitare, des claviers et un "Dub Professor" spécialisé dans le mixage vintage à base d'effets analogiques, dans la tradition du reggae dub jamaïcain.
Le groupe privilégie les rencontres et autour de ce noyau gravitent différents guest: chanteurs, cuivres, instruments accoustiques ou traditionnels venant apporter un métissage au projet.
RIDDIMPERIALISM ne se limite pas à la dimension sonore car si Dub en anglais signifie doublage le groupe double ses performances de samples et de projections vidéo: séquences d'animation, montages et détournements d'images...
Le groupe a eu l’occasion de se produire au coté des plus grands groupes de DUB de la scène internationale comme ZION TRAIN (Uk.) ou ElectroDunes (Alg.) …
Une première démo a été enregistrée en décembre 2006 au Studio Si Bemol à Vannes le Châtel (54, FR) puis a ensuite été mixé à Londres (Uk) dans le Black Work Studio par Professor Wya.
Un maxi promo "Before The Invasion", composé de titres studio et de titres live est sortie en juillet 2007
Un premier album ("Roots PropaganDub") rempli d’invités et de connexions est disponible depuis décembre 2008.
