Although their modesty is admirable, on hearing their latest single, 'Poison Letter', I would describe them as sounding less Smashing Pumpkins and more like a noisier Ben Folds. Noiser in the sense of how I imagine Folds to sound if he ventured into the studio with a number of drunk musician friends and cranked it up a notch or two. This song is destined to be a hit at the festivals this summer. It would sound perfect in a shady tent on a hot summer's day after a giddy few hours knocking back the beer. That's not to say that Le Reno Amps are destined for the indie trash can when the leaves start falling and the festival tents are stored away for another long winter, for this band has the potential to form a solid fanbase and stick around for quite some time. Let's just hope that the Scottish boys and little lady don't take so long to write the next record.
