Take yourself back to a time when life seemed so less complicated. Before dot com. When Filmmaker John Hughes was king and coming -of -age movies ruled the box office. When a person’s biggest dilemma was how to solve the Rubik’s cube.
The time we’re talking about is the 1980’s. A period of new romanticism. When MTV was brand new and was actually dedicated to music videos. On the day it aired The Buggles ‘Video killed the radio star’ the world changed, and that definitive moment set the course for a decade of great music to follow.
That is what ‘Ridgemont High’’ is recapturing. With the 80’s resurgence in full swing; the huge success of Time-Life box set, Rhino records complete 80’s songs, and VH1’s I LOVE THE 80’s it seems obvious why ‘Ridgemont High’ decided to cover nothing but songs from the 1980’s. Songs people remember and love.
“It is so much fun to play a song like ‘Always Something There to Remind Me’ and just watch a party break out. The dance floor fills and the audience sings along...It’s magical.”
“I wanted to form a band that played songs that were dear to me, with musicians that shared the same feelings that I had about the music. That way, you never get tired of performing. And I think you notice this in our live show.” Explains Keith Kozak bassist and founder of ‘Ridgemont High’.
“I especially like seeing peoples’ reactions when they hear us do one of their favorites. They’re so shocked that they’re able to see a live band, in a club, doing 80’s tunes. Instant gratification.” says Thom Sacco lead vocalist.
At a time when it seems like most cover bands are hard to tell apart, ‘Ridgemont High' is SO different! with their authentic 80's sound, it's no wonder why clubs keep asking them back! Whether it be the edgy songs from the Clash or Billy Idol, the pop sounds of the Cars or Squeeze, or the uniqueness of Devo and Flock of Seagulls, this band takes you on a New- wave -time -warp back to the 1980s. Imagine reliving all the fun you had over those ten years... in one night.
‘Ridgemont High’ is a group of musicians who have been playing together (in one form or another) for over 14 years. It's members have been on MTV, opened for Bon Jovi in New York and New Jersey, toured the entire eastern seaboard, won first place in numerous battle of the bands contests and have had songs they have written played regularly on radio stations throughout the country.

My main bass is just a cheap Ibanez but I drilled out the bridge and put medium flatwounds on it. Nice feel.I just put custom Ernie Ball flatwounds on my fretless 5 string. I've got a Hartke amp and Cabinet.
