PRESS REVIEWS of The EP "DRINKING DEN" (Released 4 May 2009)
“Drinking Den by Rieser builds and builds into an epic and blustery slice of musical brilliance” 4/5 Camilla Pia, The List Magazine, March 2009
“Rieser are just a damn good guitar band with some great songs. And to think Rieser are unsigned. A sad indictment of the times. Excellent…..Rieser could be the next great Scottish export.” 5/5 David Randall, Get Ready To Rock, March 2009
“Rieser scream ‘quality’…a polished and proficient release that showcases the professionalism and musical maturity of Rieser…a crackin’ sounding outfit!!” Toxic Pete, March 2009
"The Drinking Den EP kicks off with the eponymous track. A catchy hook of a chorus, this song will wheedle its way into your consciousness and have you singing it for hours afterwards. The future for this band looks very bright indeed." Caroline McCarthy, AllGigs.co.uk, April 2009
"Rieser are a band who sound on the verge of something special, the DRINKING DEN EP is a collection of songs that whilst not quite essential or revolutionary display a passion and drive to this Scottish quartet that certainly piques the interest." Mike Bond, UKmusicreview.com, April 2009
"A fantastic collection of songs that captures the band’s beautiful indie-pop sound in all its glory. The E.P. as a whole is a refreshing concoction of melody and atmospheric pop. Drinking Den is the E.P. that will rocket them into the limelight. The light pop feel, slinky vocals and strong indie-rock backbone give Rieser a quality sound and a faultless collection of tracks." 4/5 Susan Ford, Music-News.com, April 2009
"The main thing you notice is just how good it sounds. Chris Blair’s voice is crystal clear and poignant, the guitars are brilliantly understated, and it all just sounds so damn accomplished. It’s really Something Very Special." Paul Schofield, Gobshout Music Fanzine, April 2009
"Sounding like a new wave Idlewild, lead track Drinking Den is a brooding ode, played over an acoustic backdrop. With all the layered swirling guitars the song begins to sound like it could become a future indie anthem. Track three Call Me Round, is a song built in the early nineties indie tradition. Again it sees the band adopt an acoustic approach with an abundance of layered guitars over the top. The song builds into a unifying anthem and the brilliant chorus is sung with real intensity and earnestness." 3.5/5 Chris Cummins, Addict Music, May 2009

PRESS REVIEWS of The Album "THE WELL DRESSED THIEF" (Released in 2007)
“Amazing! One of the Best Scots Rock Debuts of the Year!” Jim Gellatly, XFM Scotland
“RIESER have created a fantastic, many faceted jewel of an album that refuses to be pigeonholed. With the UK music scene turning into groups from New Rave to Grime it's a fresh approach to take from many pools but create something unique to yourself. This band have the musical armoury and the dedication as their song Rock Star shouts: " I wanna be a rock star". Let's hope a record label gives them their dream.” Rick Fulton, The Daily Record.
"The only record with a half decent tune in it since the old days of Max Bygraves & Jimmy Shand......!" Betty Ross (Mike's Nan). March 07
"Really like your stuff. And in Chico Chimbonda you have one of the best drummer names in Scottish music!" Dominik Diamond
"The next big hope for our guitar music" Barry Gordon, Sunday Mail.
