Scottish McMillan: Electro-Acoustic Guitar, Hootin' and Hollerin'.
Ryan Aiello: Serious Drumming, Serious Face.
Influences
THE BIG NAMES: old Rush, Van Halen (w/Roth), Incubus, Pearl Jam (get over it - they're great), System of A Down, Pink Floyd (especially the "forgotten" stuff), Soundgarden, RHCP, Fishbone (pre-Chim-Chim), Primus / Les Claypool, Ravi Shankar, The Grateful Dead, Queen, Umphrey's McGee, Radiohead, The Mars Volta, Janes Addiction (except for "Jane Says" - ENOUGH ALREADY, for the love of Mike), Tool, My Morning Jacket, Blind Melon, Frank Zappa, Adrian Belew, Galactic, TV on the Radio, Wilco, Foo Fighters, The Beatles, King Crimson and a million other bands.
THE NOT-SO-BIG NAMES (mostly Chicago-local, some defunct - some defunct for a looong time): Von Frickle, Oucho Sparks, The Andreas Kapsalis Trio, Twang Bang, Brother Theresa, Ulele, Soul Vitaminz, Las Toallitas, Blue Turtle Tea Party, Funkadesi....
AND last (but really FIRST)...
Our friends, family, and supporters - not the least of whom is Ryan's wife, Morgan. Without her enthusiastic support, this would...be harder! Thanks, Mo! You Rock!
Sounds Like
Dooon, boppa da boppa de bop daddladdle oooonnn boppa de bop!
Do you really wanna dance till your little booty hurts? Do you just wanna shake your money maker and get real drunk and forget about your troubles? Do dark, introspective epic rock songs bore the shit out of you with their weird, hard-to-follow rhythms, frenetic guitar, and self-important, pseudo-intellectual rambling? Does your favorite music simply need a fat-ass beat and a sweet pair of tits on the CD cover to hold your attention?
Then you're wasting your time here. Go away. Right Rongly is all of that stuff you can't stand and more. (And as soon as you're gone, we'll play some funky disco, to reward the ones who can handle everything else...)
As for the rest of you, welcome. Right Rongly - two guys on a mission to change their own minds, and maybe take yours with. Oh, it's so fun.
FANS OF NEAT-O NOISES PLEASE NOTE:
Every Right Rongly show is recorded in high-quality digital audio, and is designed to sound like a medium-budget studio recording. If any part of the performance passes RR's very strict charisma standards, it is made publicly available, ASAP. Due to recent changes in RR's tech setup, the recordings are getting better and better. When this process has been perfected (as IF), much more music will be made available to everyone on RR's email list. FOR FREE. Well, that is, unless you decide to donate something... :-D
HEY ALL YOU "BOOKING" TYPES:
"Why should I care", you ask? I guess all we can say is, "We're not a garage band." Singer/front guy Scottish McMillan has been nominated (and also elected) for music awards and recognition by www.JustPlainFolks.com, his CD "Vice Verses" has met many happy reviewers, including the Illinois Entertainer, and he's logged weekend stage time at House of Blues, Schuba's, Cubby Bear, Goose Island Brewery (Wrigleyville), most other noteworthy Chicago clubs, and all over England in '03 and '04. And he's pretty well-heard-of by Chicago's local "music heads". Drummer Ryan Aiello is a degreed Music Performance major, all ripe and ready for the big time. Also, this current version of Right Rongly recently rocked the crap out of an opening slot for The Presidents of The United States of America on the mainstage at The Rave in Milwaukee, WI. So go on, give us a call. We'll rock the house. Honest.
FANS: You can sign up on RIGHT RONGLY'S EMAIL LIST by FIRST putting us in your address book (so Google Gmail doesn't think we're spamming you...), and emailing us at rightrongly@gmail.com. Then, you won't miss that one time we decided to play "Jungle Boogie".
Wow thank you so much! I have a long ways to go and then some lol.. you were amazing like usual.. I really liked that break up song the chords were lovely and the lyrics were clever. Of course dumbing it down was awesome too! Good to see you, under weird circumstances kinda bittersweet.. anyway.. you were great and I'm sorry I didn't see get to say goodnight I thought you had already left I hung out for a while I left a lil after those pretty boys walked out cuz there were no "chicks" in there lol.. eh..
