My biggest passion, or as my husband says, my biggest obsession, is books and writing. My earliest memories all include books and I can't imagine my life without them. I read about 75- 100 books a year and even if I stopped buying books today (which I can't...just bought 3 more and recently spent some time at some Oakland bookshops and the famed City Lights in SF) it would take me several years to read them all! I enjoy journaling, which I find to be an incredibly useful, highly private and introspective process. And while no great scandals or best selling novels will ever come from my writings, I prefer to keep them private. I also love music and play the clarinet, flute and am re-learning the guitar.
And then there are sports...I love basketball,NASCAR and of course... football! Go Chargers!
My business interests are focused on all things marketing, especially the effect the internet and emerging media have on getting your message out to the consumer and building your brand.
My first love, even as a small child, was classical Jazz -- Miles, Monk, Coltrane, Mingus, Pepper, Evans and more -- I love all Jazz music and would listen to it all day. However, I listen to the music that fits my mood so one day I may be listening to Patsy Cline and the next Mozart's Clarinet Concerto and all points in between. Thank goodness for satellite radio! Other top favs include The Eagles (I am so glad I saw them in concert in 2005), The Rolling Stones, Sting, Hendrix and the mighty Led Zeppelin. We should also include James Taylor, Rob Thomas, Santana, Rush, Peter Gabriel, The Moody Blues, Matchbox 20, Aerosmith, Van Halen, The Police. I will always love my 80s dance music (ahh to be 16 again) but I have a sincere appreciation for today's music as well.
Check out this blast from the past from Tracy Ullman...a classic!
I showed this to Big Daddy B...he was horrified and his comments are not suitable for print...but suffice it to say it is not his favorite video.
Movies
All time favorite is Wizard of Oz, but I love Breakfast at Tiffany's, All This and Heaven Too (and all things Bette Davis), All About Eve, Gidget, Caddyshack and of course, Office Space among others. I like Notting Hill and Love Actually. I also harbor a guilty pleasure...all things Will Farrell! Anchorman makes me laugh out loud, but Old School is still my fav! "You're my boy, Blue!"
Television
All my life I have run into people who say they hate tv, they don't watch it or they don't even own one. I however, am proud to say I own more than one tv, I watch them and I LIKE television! I enjoy CSI (the original), Law & Order, Law & Order:SVU, and my all time favorite series, Homicide: Life on the Street - an amazing series that was way ahead of its time. My Name is Earl has its moments, but my favs are Burn Notive, Monk, House, Psych, South Park and Reno 911 As reality tv goes, I was a fan back when MTV started Real World and CBS' Survivor, but I have grown weary of them...looking for something fresh. Surprisingly I really enjoyed Celebrity Rehab and found Dr. Drew's approach to celebs behaving badly refreshing. I love to watch Talk Soup and the Daily Show too. See? And all my friends thought I only watched crime drama! No way...bring out a Monty Python sketch any day...love that stuff!
I love mysteries and crime novels and enjoy looking for new authors to read. Last summer I read "The Mermaid Chair" by Sue Monk Kidd, it really spoke to me, which puts it among my favorites of all time. Pat Conroy, Isabel Allende, Alice Hoffman, and Anne Rivers Siddons are among my favorites because all of these authors share the ability to create characters that you can't forget and that make you think. Interestingly, I find myself drawn to Southern authors.
Heroes
My family and friends who have stood by me when I have been at my best as well as at my worst.

I live on the beautiful Central Coast of California with Brian, my husband of 16 years, and our almost 2 year old Husky/Golden mix, Sophie. (Until the end of 2006, we were a 2 dog family and shared our home and travels for 18 years with my mini black poodle, Corky.)I discovered my passion for marketing in college and have not looked back since. I have spent the past 18 years working with various brokerages and real estate agents throughout California. Currently my husband and I have our own marketing consulting business, White Dog Media Services -- we are currently working on our own positioning and branding, so stay tuned for an update on our coming-soon website. While we focus primarily on the real estate industry, our consulting services are available to all types of businesses.

Besides marketing, I love books, so most of the people I would like to meet are authors. I would love to meet Anne Rivers Siddons, Pat Conroy, Isabel Allende and Alice Hoffman. Each of them has done more than simply write a story. They have created characters and imbued them with so much vibrance and life that they come alive and stay with you forever. And as a huge Charger fan, I would love to meet the San Diego Chargers!
It's ok that you neeeeever comment me back on this thing. I mean, Myspace is just a silly excuse for not calling someone, and what's commenting anyway, but a complete lack of time and energy, really.
...did I ....read that right.....motorcycle shopping....??....with my brother??? He would look bad@$$ on a motorcycle!! (Don't tell mom I said that and if you're reading, Mom, it's just a typo or something)...so is he getting one??
Your twitter status is funny. And I totally can relate. Anyway, yesterday, me and Er-Bear were going out of our neighborhood, and turning on Gosford, but I was texting at the light, and it's a good thing, b/c it made me late seeing the light turn green, and as I sat there, unaware that the light had turned green, I looked up, and a big SUV going about 60-65 sped through the very red light. Had I been paying attention, and gone out when it turned green, I would have been hit on my side and it wouldn't have been good at all, for me and Erynn, who was in the back, on my side. So, I'm glad I was being an airhead and not watching the light.
That's what that meant yesterday on my mood status thingy.
YO! whats up? tgif! should be sleepin or on the site that i originally planned to view but i could not overcome my intense urge to check the space. ok really it wasn't that dramatic but thought i'd throw that in there. :) yup it's official - i'm deliriously sleepy. lunch next friday? you avail?

So your Chargers won... bet you are stoked to the moon! Congrats and hope you weren't screaming at the TV or anything (as was happening in my house yesterday) Are you going to the SuperBowl or what?
Good grief, I thought I stayed up late! I have an excuse...I took a three hour nap. I don't think I've napped in years. It was great! But now I'm kinda wide awake. Wayne just now went up to bed, so I guess I'll follow. Thought I'd say Hi though, since I saw you on. Love ya, LeAnn (wow, that reads like I'm on speed. Really I'm not, it's just late and I'm a little delirious)
