Riko Goto (Piano)
Née à Hokkaido au Japon, elle commence l’étude du piano à l’age de quatre ans et étudie la théorie et le répertoire classique avec Yoko Moriyasu. En 1997 elle arrive en Finlande où elle s’éveille à la libre improvisation. Durant cette période elle suit les enseignements de différents musiciens de free jazz comme Iro Haarla et commence à composer ses propres thèmes en collaboration avec les musiciens de la formation qu’elle fonde en 2002. Avec cette formation elle autoproduit trois albums et effectue une tournée de vingt concerts en Finlande. Elle s’installe en France en 2003 et organise une tournée de cinq concerts à Paris en Février 2004, et à cette occasion joue en collaboration avec contrebassiste Alan Silva et trompettiste Itaru Oki. Avec ce dernier, elle joue au festival de Castelbasso en Italie en Juillet 2004. Se produit à Tokyo et à Nagano en solo et en duo avec collaborateurs Taca (accordéon) et Maki Nakano (sax) en Août 2004. En juin 2005 elle joue au festival international de musique en Sardegna en Italie et dix concerts au Japon en Août avec Maki Nakano. Elle produit un album « Rossignols »de chez Ohrai-Records, Japon en juillet 2006 et effectue une tournée de vingt et un concerts à Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe, Nagoya, Shizuoka, Nagano, Sapporo, et Otaru au Japon en Août 2006.
Guillaume Arbonville ( Batterie )
Originaire des Ardennes ( France ) , il commence l’étude de la batterie tardivement, à 19 ans. Après plusieurs années d’étude, il poursuit sa formation en accompagnant de nombreux groupes et artistes, dans des styles musicaux très différents, et à travers ces expériences, commence à forger son style reconnaissable. Début 2004, la rencontre avec Riko va lui permettre de développer un style d’accompagnement libéré de toute contrainte, la batterie devient mélodique et la musique du duo peut alors s’affirmer.
Kentaro Suzuki (Contrebasse)
Originaire Tokyo ( Jqpon) , il commence l’étude de la basse, à 12 ans. Après plusieurs années d’étude, il commence donner les concerts à 16 ans, il déménage en France en 2006
René Wolf (Contrebasse)
Il étudie la contrebasse à l’IACP à Paris avec Alan Silva puis avec J. Jacques, Avenel et François Méchali. Il collabore des spectacles de danse contemporaine avec Hélène Viallat. Depuis quinze ans, il travaille dans milieu du Jazz et des musiques improvisées au travers de collaborations et enregistrements notamment avec Sophie Agnel, Maggie Nicols et Katy Roberts.

Riko Goto trio is an original formation where the leader Japanese pianist Riko Goto combines her talent with French drumer Guillaume Arbonville and contrabassist Kentaro Suzuki /Rene Wolf in the creation of free improvisation music. The trio based in Paris and established since January 2007 finds its roots in the meeting of Japanese and Western cultures and in its members shared interest for fluidity. The musicians themselves describe this music nourished by improvisation as impressionist and vigorously contemporary music. The original compositions are themes of variable geometry, developed and reconstructed with each new concert.
Born in Hokkaido in Japan, she began studying the piano at age of four and studied theory and the classical repertory with Yoko Moriyasu. In 1997 she arrived in Finland where she was awoken to free improvisation. During this period she followed the teachings of various free jazz musicians such as Iro Haarla. She began composing her own themes in collaboration with the musicians of the “Riko Goto Trio” that she that founded in 2002. With this formation, she has auto-produced three albums and toured a circuit of twenty concerts in Finland. She settled in France in 2003 and organized a series of five concerts in Paris in February 2004. On that occasion the trio played in collaboration with double bass player Alan Silva and trumpet player Itaru Oki. With Itaru Oki, she performed at the festival of Castelbasso in Italy in July 2004. She also performed in Tokyo and Nagano in solo and duet in collaboration with Taca (accordion) and Maki Nakano (saxophone) in August 2004. In June 2005, she performed at the international music festival “Un Mare di Musica” in Sardinia in Italy with Maki Nakano.
In 2006, Maki Nakano and Riko goto duo released debut album “Rossignols” from Ohrai-Records in Japan. Duo had 21 concerts tour in Japan in July and August 2006.

Although it's not an original thought, it also occurred to us that we couldn’t hold a verbal conversation with most of these friends, but we have bridged that gap by expressing our art honestly with each other.
We all have been filling the world with our music and art, in the hope that our messages of love and human understanding will have an impact on the world at large.
