Rage on Aust ABC is the only programme I know that has music diversity and no commercials, that means it's got my No 1 vote!
I like RocKwiz on Aust SBS, it is so smack-bang in the middle of my demographic, all resistance is futile!
The Simpsons never fail to amaze and tickle my funny bone, always so uncanny! :)
Also love that Michael Apted doco that started as "Seven-Up".
That's about it, so much of the media seem to hover between self-absorbtion and stupidity.
Books
I still buy 'em, but I spend a lot more time on the internet....
I do own most books written on guitars, with lots of pictures! :)
Many years ago I wrote a book on Live Sound, it's called "Wheels to the Sky", exerpts from it are in the blogs on this page.

When I was a child, music was one of the best ways to escape, to daydream, to be in my own world....
My world now IS music, and plenty of it!
I try to help music happen, by preparing for it the best way I can.
That usually means I am the live sound guy, sometimes I record, and sometimes I play.
You can find me at the Fly by Night Club in Fremantle, or the Blues Club in North Perth, or playing guitar in Rockin' Hendy.
The rest of the time I work on guitars, have a passion for torches (flashlights, use'm every day), and I keep in touch with my Amsterdam roots via BVN Dutch satellite TV.
Who I'd like to meet: my Dad, never knew him, died in a motorbike accident when I was still a baby......

We couldn't make up our minds whether to listen to the music, dance or watch the nostalgic videos, hence we did all three.
As a dancer I need to feel the music and love the way you are so tuned in, even if you sometimes don't have much to work with :) (You know what that means Rik).

Hows the wonderful world of the Bluezzzz Club being going ? Our ever changing lineup is close to getting lined up ! It appears Mr Troy Genoe is a very hard man to replace ... I reckon I'm going to start a petition to get hime back to the Big State ;-)
Anyway, hope all is good on the sound front and hope to get back there one day in the not too distant future.

hiya Rik...thought it was about time i said hello...80% is great...whats the missing 20%....all is good just settling in at the moment having a great time here...the weather aint too bad...and the coffee is great...had my first gig tonight it was ok we had two people in the audience...my smallest crowd ever! i can only move up from here...its great actually met heaps of good people and musos with good attitudes its all a matter of time.......
