Rik van den Bergh - The Netherlands (b. May 10,1970); baritone saxophone; Royal Conservatory of The Hague (1992-1996); associated with The New Thundering Swingmates, The Hague All Star Big Band, Peter Ypma & His Eleven and Baileo Big Band; he won the Japanese Kobe Jazz Award 1999 and performed in Japan (1999/2000); he had his organ/baritone quartet Swingmatism from 1999 untill 2004; this quartet toured with Teddy Edwards and 'Sax' Gordon Beadle; he played with Tom Baker, Dan Barrett, Rob van Bavel, Bill Berry, Bert Boeren, Joke Bruys, Jarmo Hoogendijk, John Engels, New Cool Collective and Spiegel Wilcox, among others. At this time Rik is a also a member of the Young Sinatras and the Rotterdam Jazz Orchestra. |
